Ashford, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

ASHFORD

A274 North Street & Headcorn Road, Biddenden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow carriageway works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A274 North Street & Headcorn Road, Biddenden, from 2nd May 2025, with estimated completion by 21st May 2025, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00, or until the works have been completed.

The roads will be closed between the junctions with Frittenden Road and Cloth Hall Gardens, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Frittenden Road, Hareplain Road, A262 Sissinghurst Road and High Street, Biddenden.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

B2067 Warehorne Road, Hamstreet, TN26 2JW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of B2067 Warehorne Road, Hamstreet, from 28th April 2025, with estimated completion by 2nd May 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2080 The Street, Marsh Road, Ashford Road, A2070 From J A2070/B2080 Roundabout To J A2042, A2070 From Ashford Road To District Boundary, A2070 Rhee Wall To Ashford Road, A259 J A2070/B2080 Roundabout, B2080 Rhee Wall Roundabout, Rhee Wall, Brenzett Corner Roundabout, Rhee Wall Road, Station Road, Tenterden Road, Reading Street, Appledore Road, B2067 Woodchurch Road, Brook Street, Kenardington Road, Warehorne Road, D1305 11 Acre Wood Lane Junction With B2067 To D1291 Junction With D1305 11 Acre Wood Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bartlets Lane, Chilmington Green, TN23 3DP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bartlets Lane, Chilmington Green, from 12th May 2025, with estimated completion by 14th May 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Chilmington Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bartlets Lane, Chart Road, Mock Lane, Chilmington Green Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bockham Lane, Mersham. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bockham Lane, Mersham, from 15th May 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with A20 Hythe Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bockham Lane, Plumpton, Hinxhill Road, Honeysuckle Avenue, A20 Hythe Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Chilmington Green Road, Great Chart. (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of Chilmington Green Road, Great Chart, from 12th May 2025, with estimated completion by 15th May 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The 30 mph speed restriction will be imposed outside Toke Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

Elwick Road, Ashford, TN23 1DU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow frame and cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Elwick Road, Ashford, from 20:00 hours on 12th May 2025, with estimated completion by 06:00 hours on 13th May 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed adjacent to the cinema, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2042 Station Road, Wellesley Road, A292 Somerset Road, Forge Lane, West Street and Godinton Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Place Lane, Woodchurch, TN26 3PG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow cover and frame works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Place Lane, Woodchurch, from 14th May 2025, with estimated completion by 16th May 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Fulwood, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Place Lane, Lower Road, Front Road, Bethersden Road, Plurenden Road, Shadoxhurst Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Pope Street, Godmersham. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow cover and frame works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pope Street, Godmersham, from 12th May 2025, with estimated completion by 14th May 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Farm House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

School Hill, Chilham. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2025

To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of School Hill, Chilham, from 28th April 2025, with estimated completion by 16th May 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Castle Cottage and the junction with The Square, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Square, The Street, Hambrook Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Shoreham Lane, Tenterden, TN30 6EG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Shoreham Lane, Tenterden, from 13th May 2025, with estimated completion by 23rd May 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 5, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Shoreham Lane, Grange Road, Orchard Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

The Street, Brook, TN25 5PE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2025

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Brook, from 2nd May 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 11:00 and 16:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite The Agricultural Museum, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Amage Road, Coldharbour Lane, Scotton Street, Upper Bridge Street, Oxenturn Road, Naccolt Road, Spelders Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
