What is happening?
THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH FP0920084 RIVINGTON, CHORLEY BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to prohibit temporarily all traffic from proceeding over the Public Footpath indicated below:-
Public Footpath FP0920084 Rivington, Chorley, from Point A (GR 6602 1435) in a generally north easterly direction for a distance of approximately 385 metres to Point B (GR 6622 1467) near the television station on Winter Hill, Rivington.
The closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the footpath.
Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpath, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpath, will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the order shall apply to emergency service vehicles or to those undertaking the works
The Order will be operative from the 13th April, 2025, for a period of 6 months or until the works are completed within this period.
