What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC142453965: The City of Manchester (Brown Street & Norfolk Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic, Suspension of One-way Traffic & No Waiting, No Loading) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Brown Street from King Street to Pall Mall & Suspend the Oneway Traffic on Norfolk Street from Pall Mall to Brown Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: King Street, Cheapside, Chapel Walks, Pall Mall, Norfolk Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a crane. It is expected that the works will be in progress on 26th & 27th April 2025 with back-up dates of 3rd & 4th May 2025. The order shall come into operation on 26th April 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
