Callerton Lane - Prohibit All Traffic to Allow Works to Be Carried Out on or Near the Highway
What is happening?
CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE (CALLERTON LANE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic from proceeding on Callerton Lane from its junction with B6918 to a point 140 metres southwestwards, for 60 metres in a southwesterly direction.
2. The alternative route for traffic will be signed on site as required.
3. The order is required to allow works to be carried out on or near the highway.
4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles and personnel engaged in the said works.
5. The Order will come into operation on 28 May 2025 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, up to 2 June 2025 or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
