Moor Street - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic

(A570 DERBY STREET, WEST OF STANLEY STREET, U893 RAILWAY ROAD, ORMSKIRK AND U49154 MOOR STREET, ORMSKIRK) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) (TEMPORARY ONE-WAY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of A570 Derby Street, West of Stanley Street from U893 Railway Road, Ormskirk to X10305 Station Approach, Ormskirk.
AND FURTHER, temporarily suspend the westbound one-way order on A570 Derby Street, West of Stanley Street between X10305 Station Approach, Ormskirk and U902 Stanley Street, Ormskirk.
AND FURTHER, no person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed in a Northbound direction over that length of U893 Railway Road, Ormskirk from U49154 Moor Street, Ormskirk to A570 Derby Street, West of Stanley Street.
AND FURTHER, motor vehicles shall be permitted to proceed in a Southbound direction over that length of U893 Railway Road, Ormskirk from A570 Derby Street, West of Stanley Street to U49154 Moor Street, Ormskirk.
AND FURTHER, no person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed in a Westbound direction over that length of U49154 Moor Street, Ormskirk from A570 St Helens Road, North of Park Road to U893 Railway Road, Ormskirk.
AND FURTHER, motor vehicles shall be permitted to proceed in an Eastbound direction over that length of U49154 Moor Street, Ormskirk from U893 Railway Road, Ormskirk to A570 St Helens Road, North of Park Road.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative nightly between 2000 hours and 0600 hours from Tuesday 29th April 2025 until Friday 4th July 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. The prohibitions will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:- B5319 Burscough Road, Ormskirk – A59 County Road, Ormskirk – B5197 Aughton Street, Ormskirk – A570 Park Road, Ormskirk – A570 St Helens Road, North of Park Road – A570 Moor Street, Ormskirk – A577 Wigan Road, Ormskirk – U909 Tower Hill, Ormskirk – U1033 Greetby Hill, Ormskirk – U902 Derby Street, West of Stanley Street.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow bridge maintenance works to be carried out by Lancashire County Council.
