What is happening?
BOROUGH OF ROCHDALE
((CIVIL ENFORCEMENT OF TRAFFIC CONTRAVENTIONS) (VARIOUS STREETS) (HEYWOOD TOWNSHIP) ORDER 2008) (AMENDMENT) (NO. 84) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council, in exercise of its powers under Sections 1(1), 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to:-
(i) Amend the Borough of Rochdale (Civil Enforcement of Traffic Contraventions) (Various Streets) (Heywood Township) Order 2008, by inserting the following:-
Schedule No. 9.18
On Street Permit Parking Place (24 hours) Lock Close, Hopwood Hall Ward
n(i) within the westerly cul-de-sac from a point 58 metres south-east of its junction with Canal Street extending from the southerly kerb for a distance of 6 metres in a north-westerly direction
Tintern Road, Hopwood Hall Ward
n(i) the north-westerly side from a point 26 metres south-west of its junction with Romsey Avenue for a distance of 3 metres in a south-westerly direction
Woodland Road, North Heywood Ward
n(i) the north side from a point 15 metres north-east of its junction with Orchard Street for a distance of 6 metres in a north-easterly direction
Starkey Street, North Heywood Ward
n(i) the south side from a point 22 metres south-east of its junction with Rutland Street for a distance of 6 metres in a south-easterly direction
(ii) Revoke those parts of the Borough of Rochdale (Civil Enforcement of Traffic Contraventions) (Various Streets (Heywood Township) Order 2008, as follows:-

On Street Permit Parking Place (24 hours) Schofield Street, Hopwood Hall Ward
n(i) the south-west side from a point 41 metres north-west of its junction with Walton Street for a distance of 5 metres in a north-westerly direction
A copy of the proposed Order and plans showing the lengths of road concerned, together with a Statement of Reasons for making the Order, may be viewed on the Council’s website www.rochdale.gov.uk/roads, or by phoning Highways on 0300 303 8879 to request a copy via post.
Any objections or representations regarding the proposed Order, stating the grounds on which they are made, must be given in writing to trafficorders@rochdale.gov. uk or, alternatively, posted to Network Management, Floor 2, Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale, OL16 1XU to reach the Council on or before 8th May 2025, quoting reference H60/1308-25/MID.
