(B4287 CIMLA TO EFAIL FACH, PONTRHYDYFEN) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding along the length of road set out in the schedule below whilst the order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the road is closed.
The Order is necessary to enable Welsh Water to undertake Civil engineering works in the road and for the Highway Section to carry out any subsequent resurfacing works.
Whilst the Order is in force:
A) The 7.5 tonne weight restriction on Eastland Road will be suspended between its junctions with Briton Ferry Road and Cimla Road.
B) The 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the B4287 Pontrhydyfen will be suspended between its junctions with Tonmawr Road and Dan-Y-Bryn.
This Order will come into force on the 27th April 2025 and shall continue in force for 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner. It is envisaged the works will take 1 day to complete.
SCHEDULE
B4287 Cimla to Efail Fach will be closed from its junction with Tonmawr Road in a northerly direction for approximately 160m along its length.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via the unaffected section of B4287, B4286, A48 Heilbronn Way, A4241, Harbourside Road, Harbour Way, Afan Way, Seaway Parade, A48, A474, Neath Road, Cwrt Sart, Pantyrheol, Briton Ferry Road B4434 Eastland Road, B4287 Cimla Road, Afan Valley Road and unaffected section of Cimla to Efail Fach.
