Portway Lane And Kings Lane - Temporary Road Closure To Repair The Bridge Parapet

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Portway Lane and Kings Lane

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Portway Lane - from the junction with Turners Court Lane, northwards for a distance of 23 metres; and Kings Lane - from the junction with Turners Court Lane, southwards for a distance of 15 metres. A total distance of 38 metres.

This Order will enable National Highways to repair the bridge parapet. 

The Order becomes effective on 17th April 2025 and will remain in force for eighteen months. 

The works are expected to commence on 21st April 2025 and last until 1st May 2025 between the hours of 08:00 - 18:00 for a total of 11 days.
