What is happening?

The Nottinghamshire County Council 

(Various Locations, East Markham And Darlton) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Driving) Order 2025 (Bs25-103)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at East Markham and Darlton in the District of Bassetlaw

The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road

a. A57 Cliff Gate, East Markham - From its junction with Markham Moor A1 bridge to its junction with A57 Eat Markham bypass

b. A57 East Markham bypass, East Markham - From its junction with A57 Cliff Gate to its junction with A57 Lincoln Road

c. A57 Lincoln Road, East Markham - From its junction with A57 East Markham bypass to its junction with A57 Broad Gate

d. A57 Broad Gate, Darlton - From its junction with A57 Lincoln Road to its junction with A6075 Darlton Road, Darlton

2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required. 

3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 20:00 until 05:00 hours only From Monday 28th April until Friday 2nd May 2025 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

a. B61164 Great North Road - Market Place - A6097 Lincoln Road - A57 and vice versa

The Order will come into force on 28th April 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. 

The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to refresh road markings and cats eyes.
