What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) C173 (Part), Nettleton; from its junction with UC 817701 to its junction with Nettleton Shrub to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works and other associated works. Alternative route via C173 (unaffected length) – C71 – C160 – C173 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. For further information please contact Openreach.

B) C120 (Part), Winterbourne Bassett; from its junction with Fox Row for a distance of approximately 150m in a north westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out ducting installation work, building joint boxes and other associated works. Alternative route via C120 (unaffected length) – C121 – C415 – A4361 – C120 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 12 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 2 days. C) C82 (Part), Great Somerford; from its property known as Coach House for a distance of approximately 256m in a southerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer cleaning and surveying works and other associated works. Alternative route via C82 (unaffected length) – C66 – C77 – C82 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 12 May 2025 and the closure will be required for 1 day. D) Woodborough Road (Part), Pewsey; from its junction with Sharcott Drove for a distance of approximately 60m in an easterly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to install a new supply and associated works. Alternative route via Wilcot Road – Hare Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 12 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:30 until 22 May 2025. E) C71 (Part), North Wraxall; from its property known as No.03 Fosse Cottage for a distance of approximately 52m in a south westerly direction to enable Vodafone to carry out defective carriageway works and other associated works. Alternative route via C71 (unaffected length) – A420 – C174 – C71 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 14 May 2025 and the closure will be required for 3 days. F) C6 (Part), Mildenhall; from its junction with Church Lane to its junction with Greenway Road to enable Openreach to carry out UG civils works and overlay duct. This Order will come into operation on 12 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 3 days. G) C76 (Part), Crudwell; from its junction with Hare Lane for a distance of approximately 500m in an southerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works and other associated works. Alternative route via C76 (unaffected length) – C92 – A429 – C76 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 22 April 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. H) Breach Lane (Part), Royal Wootton Bassett; from its junction with A3102 to its junction with Footpath 25, Royal Wootton Bassett to enable Openreach to carry out works to desilt, clear blockages, lay ducting, install a new pole, cabling work and other associated works. Alternative route via C120 – Withy Bed – The Barton – Thornhill – Bushton Road – Marlborough Road – Station Road – New Road – A3102 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 April 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for until 14 May 2025. I) Bincknoll Lane (Part), Royal Wootton Bassett; from its roundabout junction with Stoneover Lane to its roundabout junction with Evening Star to enable Wiltshire Council to carry bus stop repairs, renew kerbs and other associated works. Alternative route via Bincknoll Lane (unaffected length) – Swindon Road – Stoneover Lane and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 22 April 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 for until 09 May 2025. J) C118 (Part), Christian Malford; from its property known as Rising Sun for a distance of approximately 70m in a northerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out works to install a stop tap and other associated works. Alternative route via C118 (unaffected length) – B4069 – C132 – C111 – C118 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 22 April 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 for 3 days. K) Post Office Lane, Broad Hinton; from its junction with C415 to its junction with A4361 to enable Openreach to carry out works to clear blockages, lay ducting, provide a new pole and cabling and other associated works. Alternative route via A4361 – C415 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 22 April 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 until 28 April 2025. L) C86 (Part), Grittleton; from its junction with UC 858101 for a distance of approximately 491m in a north easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works and other associated works. Alternative route via C86 (unaffected length) – C27 – C1 – C33 – C72 – C86 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 22 April 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. M) School Road (Part), Seend; from its junction with A361 for a distance of approximately 70m in a north westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out installation of ducting and associated works for new customer service. Alternative route via School Road (unaffected length) – C20 – A361 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 22 April 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 10:00 and 15:00 for 1 day. For further information please contact Openreach on 08081000493.

N) C68 (Part), Malmesbury; from its junction with St Marys Street to its junction with B4040.

O) B4040 (Part), Malmesbury; from its junction with Burnivale to its junction with High Street to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway surfacing works and other associated works. Alternative route via B4040 (unaffected length) – A429 – B4014 – C68 (unaffected length) – C89 – B4040 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 22 April 2025 and the closures will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 23:59 until 28 April 2025. For further information please contact Wiltshire Council on 0300 456 0100. Orders A) to O) will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Phase 1: Bricknoll Lane, Royal Wootton Bassett; from its junction with Bincknoll Lane to its junction with Cheddington Lane.

Phase 2: Cheddington Lane (Part), Royal Wootton Bassett and Lydiard Tregoze; from its junction with Bricknoll Lane to outside its property known as Bincknoll Farm to enable Openreach to carry out new pole installations and other associated works.

Alternative route phase 1 via Cheddington Lane – A3102 – Bincknoll Lane and vice versa. No alternative route is available for phase 2.

The closures and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

Phase 1 will come into operation on 11 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 until 15 May 2025.

Phase 2 will come into operation on 11 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 until 30 May 2025.

It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

Phase 1a: C247 (Part), Calne Without; from outside its property known as Knights Marsh Farm to its junction with UC 006801.

Phase 1b: UC 006801 (Part), Calne Without; from its junction with C247 to outside its property known as Willow Farm.

Phase 2: C247 (Part), Calne; from its junction with UC 006801 to its property known as No.01 Rough Leaze to enable Openreach to carry out urgent overhead cabling work and other associated works.

Alternative route phase 1 via UC 006801 (unaffected length) – C50 – A4 – C247 (unaffected length) and vice versa.

Alternative route phase 2 via C247 (unaffected length) – C251 – Broads Green – A3102 – A4 – C247 (unaffected length) and vice versa.

The closures and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

Phase 1 of this Order will come into operation on 21 April 2025 and the closures will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day.

Phase 2 of this Order will come into operation on 22 April 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day.

It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to temporarily introduce a 40mph speed restriction on the following length of road:

A361 (Part), Devizes, Potterne and Poulshot; from its junction with Mayenne Place for a distance of approximately 2km in a westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to accommodate a lane closure for drainage CCTV investigation survey and repair work, and other associated works.

The speed restriction will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This speed limit restriction will come into operation on 12 May 2025 and will be required until 23 May 2025. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, MARLBOROUGH) (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to revoke The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Marlborough) (20mph Speed Limit) Order 2019 and re-enact it in the above Order, to amend The County of Wilts (Built-Up Areas) Order 1936 by the deletion of Schedule No.2 (20,) Marlborough – Hyde Lane from Cardigan Road junction to the junction with the North End of Cross Lane (formerly Dark Lane) at the Isolation Hospital, a length of about 333 yards and to introduce a 20mph speed limit on:

    • A4 High Street, Marlborough – from its junction with Hyde Lane for a distance of 25 metres in a southerly direction;

  • Back Lane, Cardigan Road, Cross Lane, Culvermead Close, Ducks Meadow, Figgins Lane, George Lane, High Street (western leg), Hyde Lane and St Johns Close, Marlborough – the complete lengths.

Deposit copies of the Order, plan and Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge during normal office hours. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ACT 2004 THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (MALMESBURY AND MALMESBURY WITHOUT) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING, TAXI RANK CLEARWAYS AND ON STREET PARKING) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2017 (AMENDMENT NO.7) ORDER 2025

(Previously advertised as 2024)

Notice is hereby given that on 9 April 2025 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 to amend the restrictions in Malmesbury and Malmesbury Without Consolidation Order 2017 the effect of which will be to revoke Map Schedule No. BA44 dated 16 March 2020 and replace it by the insertion of revised Map Schedule No. BA44 dated 25 April 2025. The effect will be to introduce No Waiting at any time on Sir Bernard Lovell Road – both sides – the turning head at its northernmost point for a distance of 30 metres in a south easterly direction.

Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

The Order will come into operation on 25 April 2025.

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL PARISH OF LONGBRIDGE DEVERILL PATH NO.5 DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above-named order was confirmed as made on 27th March 2025, under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1953. The effect of the order is to divert the entire width and length of that section of the path known as Longbridge Deverill 5, at The Manor House, Hill Deverill, BA12 7EQ, leading from OS Grid Reference ST 87165 40124, in a broadly westerly direction for approximately 120 metres to OS Grid Reference ST 87051 40162, then leading in a broadly northerly direction for approximately 190 metres to ST 87076 40337.

A new route is provided leading, from OS Grid Reference ST 87165 40124, in a broadly northerly direction within the fenced corridor, for approximately 180 metres to ST 87178 40299 and then leading in a west north westerly direction for approximately 100 metres to ST 87076 40337, the path having a width of 2.5 metres.

The order will alter the Warminster and Westbury Rural District Council definitive map and statement dated 1953 accordingly.

The order came into force on 27 March 2025, but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 17th April 2025 make an application to the High Court.

Notice is hereby given that the terms of Article 1 in the above order have been satisfied and that both Articles 1 and 2 have come into force.

The new highway was certified as being in a fit condition for use by the public on 3rd April 2025 and became highway maintainable at the public expense on that date.
