Temporary Traffic Arrangements
Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtan Procession, Coventry 2025

Coventry City Council (“the Council”), under Section 21 of the Town Police
Clauses Act 1847, has made a temporary Order to enable Vaisakhi Nagar
Kirtan Procession 2025 (“the Event”) to take place safely. 

The Order will be in effect between 09:00 hours until 16:30 hours on Sunday, 20 April 2025 only. The effect of the Order will be to:- 

(a) prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding along Stoney Stanton Road, Cross Road, Foleshill Road, Howard Street and Lythalls Lane Coventry.

The Order would prohibit vehicles to such an extent and at such time as indicated by marshals and prescribed traffic signs. 

The roads will only be closed as necessary and re-opened when it is safe to do so and pedestrian access will be maintained. Roads will be re-opened as the procession passes.

Surrounding roads will be managed by Saltem Event Support. VMS messages will be on signage in the local area.

Exemptions to the Order will be provided for emergency service vehicles, vehicles being used in connection with the event and any person upon the direction of or with the permission of a police officer in uniform or an authorised traffic management event marshal

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements
Old Church Road, Coventry

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Old Church Road commencing from its junction with Bell View Way and continuing to its junction with Bell Green Road.

The Order will come into effect on 00.01 hours on Tuesday 22nd April 2025 and is required to allow for civils work & installation of new telecom cabinets on the said road.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by Thursday 24th April 2025.

The specific closure times will apply as the signage indicates on site.

Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic will be as signed on site.

Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access to Old Church Road.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements
Nightingale Lane, Coventry

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering, proceeding along Nightingale Lane commencing outside of property number 24 and continuing to its junction with Bates Road.

The Order will come into effect from 00:01 hours on Monday 21st April 2025 and is required for allow Severn Trent reinstatement works on the highway to take place safely.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by 23:59 hours on Tuesday 22nd April 2025.

The specific closure times will apply as the signage indicates on site.

Diversions for vehicular traffic will be as signed on site.

Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works

(d) local vehicular access to Nightingale Lane.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Parking & Traffic Arrangements
Canberra Road, Coventry

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering, proceeding along Canberra Road for its full length.

The Order will come into effect at 07:00 hours on Thursday, 24 April 2025 and is required to enable defective wastewater chamber repair works on Canberra Road to take place safely.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. 

It is expected that the works will be completed by 24 April 2025.

Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closure will be sign posted on site.

Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) reasonable local vehicular access to Canberra Road.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Parking & Traffic Arrangements
Almond Tree Avenue, Coventry

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to:

a. prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering, proceeding along Almond Tree Avenue at the junction of Hillmorton Road, when prescribed signs are displayed. The road will be closed or restricted on a number of occasions for the various durations;

b. prohibit pedestrians from, entering or proceeding along the footpaths between Almond Tree Avenue and Hillmorton Road, when prescribed signs are displayed.

The Order will come into effect at 07:00 hours on Friday, 18 April 2025 and is required to enable cycleway installation and associated works on Almond Tree Avenue to take place safely.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by 13 June 2025.

Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closure will be sign posted on site.

Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) reasonable local vehicular access to Almond Tree Avenue.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements
Various Roads (As Set Out In The Schedule Below), Coventry

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on the roads detailed in the below Schedule.

The Order would come into effect at 07.00 hours on Friday 25th April 2025 and is required to enable Carriageway maintenance work including resurfacing, repairs, surface treatment and associated works to take place safely on the said roads. 

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier.

It is expected that the works would be completed by 31st March 2026.

The roads will be closed or restricted on a number of occasions for various durations, to such an extent when prescribed signs are displayed.

The specific closure times for each road would apply as the signage indicates on site. Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic would be as signed on site and access to premises would be maintained wherever possible.

The Schedule
Almond Tree Avenue, Carey Street, Carter Road, Penarth Grove, Duke Barn Field, Flecknose Street, Headborough Road, Henry Boteler Road, Jasmine Grove, Lion Fields Avenue, Lynmouth Road, St Catherines Close, The Moorfield, Watcombe Road.

Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access and egress to properties on the closed section of the roads

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements
Petitor Crescent, Coventry

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Petitor Crescent from the roundabout to Eathorpe Close.

The Order would come into effect at 00.01 hours on Monday 28th April 2025 and is required to allow for Gas replacement works to take place on the said road.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Friday 9th May 2025.

The specific closure times would apply as the signage indicates on site.

Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic would be as signed on site.

Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order; 

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access to Petitor Crescent.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Traffic Arrangements
Coventry Half Marathon & 10k Run 2025

Coventry City Council (“the Council”) under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, as amended, intends to make a temporary Order (“the Order”), the purpose of which is to facilitate the holding of, and to enable members of the public to watch, the Coventry Half Marathon & 10K Run 2025.

The Order would come into effect at 16.00 hours on Saturday 26th April 2025 and will remain in operation until 15.00 hours on Sunday, 27th April 2025.

The general effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading, unloading, entering, or proceeding along the lengths of the road listed in Schedules 1 to 3 below on the dates and times stated.

The restrictions in the Order shall apply to such extent and at such times as indicated by prescribed traffic signs on site.

Diversion routes for the closures would be as signed on site.

Local access for the following: Brownshill Green Road [garden centre] via Long Lane to Coundon Green; Coundon Green will be maintained; Wall Hill Road will be maintained via Piker’s Lane; Warwick Road will be maintained via ring road junction 5 to Friar’s Road; and Waste Lane.

Roads would be re-opened when it is safe to do so.

Exemptions would be provided for any vehicle being used in connection with the event, emergency service vehicles, any person upon the direction of or with the permission of a police officer in uniform or an authorised traffic management event marshal.

Pedestrian access to all properties within the restriction and access through the restriction would be maintained along defined routes throughout the period of the closure.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
