(Sidlesham: Mill Lane) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to close Mill Lane between Rookery Lane and The Crab and Lobster.

The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst electrical upgrade works are undertaken. The Order came into effect on 6 May 2025 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is anticipated works will commence on 6 May 2025 and will take 3 weeks to complete. Whilst works are taking place all vehicles should follow the singed diversionary route.

(Arun District: Various Roads) (Roads Maintenance Programme)
(Temporary Traffic
Regulation No.2) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close, temporarily prohibit waiting at any time and temporarily introduce a 20 MPH speed limit throughout the whole length (unless otherwise stated) of the flowing roads in Arun District:

ARUNDEL: Bond Street; ALDWICK Nyetimber Lane from Leonora Drive to Gossamer Lane; BERSTED A259 from Shripney Road (A29) to Rowan Way, Shripney Road (A259) From Rowan Way (A259) to Charles Purley Way (A259); BOGNOR REGIS Crescent Road; EAST PRESTON: Seawaves Close, The Street, Vermont Drive; LITTLEHAMPTON: Horsham Road (B2187) from East Street to Oakcroft Gardens, Norman Close, Peregrine Road, Southfields Road from Horsham Road to Parkside Avenue, Wick Street from the A259 to North Street; LYMINSTER & CROSSBUSH Lyminster Road (A284) from the A27, southwards to Church Lane.These restrictions are needed to allow road maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to take up to three days and dates for works will be confirmed in advance locally nearer the time they are carried out.

The Order will come into effect on 5 May 2025 and remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Felpham: Public Footpath 3800) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Public Footpath 3800 in Felpham from its eastern junction with Public Footpath 3801, eastwards and southwards throughout the remainder of its length. The closure of this route is needed to facilitate the design and installation of a replacement footbridge. The Order extends the operation of a current emergency closure notice and will come into effect on 23 April 2025. It will remain in force for six months, or until the works are completed, whichever is earlier. Unfortunately, during the operative period of the Order, no alternative route is available via the public rights of way network.

(Chichester District: Various Parishes – Various Roads) (Highway Works Programme)
(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close and introduce a temporary prohibition of waiting at anytime on lengths of the following roads. This Order will also introduce a temporary 20 MPH speed limit.

Appledram: Dell Quay Road; Bury: A29, between Bury Common and the B2138; Chichester: A259, between The Hornet and the A27; Fishbourne Road East, between Cathedral Way and Clay Lane; Fishbourne Road East roundabout; Fishbourne Road East Access to superstore and petrol station; Swanfield Drive, between Douglas Martin Road and Meadowfield Drive; Donnington: Green Lane; Fernhurst: A286; Fishbourne: A259; Fittleworth: A283, between the B2138 and Stophams Lane; The Gardens; Graffham: Perrott Lane; Harting: Hill Lane; Hunston: B2145; Kirdford: A272, between Croucham Lane and Linfold Road; Lodsworth: Gills Lane, between The Street and Heath End Lane; Langham Lane, between the A272 and Vicarage Lane; Lickfold Road; Loxwood: Badgers Way; Glebelands; Nicholsfield; Petworth: A272, between Brinksole Lane and Wakestone Lane; A285, between Haslingbourne Lane and Burton Park Road; Haslingbourne Lane, westbound approach to the A285; Plaistow: Rickmans Lane, at the junction with Foxbridge Lane; Runcton: Brookside; Upwaltham: A285, between Selhurst Park Road and Eartham Lane; Westbourne: B2147, between Common Road and Racton Lane. These road closures are needed to protect public safety whilst the 2025/26 carriageway patching programme is carried out. It is expected that the affected roads will be closed for upto 3 days.  Temporary speed limits may be required in preparation for the works, during the works and inbetween phases of the works. The exact dates and duration of the works and the traffic management in each location will be confirmed in advance locally nearer the time. The Order will come into effect on 17 April 2025 and remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the works programme is completed, whichever is earlier.

During the works alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Yapton: Public Footpath 156_1 & 156_2) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, continuing the effect of previous orders closing public footpath 156_1 in Yapton, from its junction with public footpath 148 north-eastwards to its junction with public footpath 156_2, and public footpath 156_2 from its junction with The Millers, westwards to its junction with public footpath 157.

The extended closure of these routes is needed to protect public safety while a property development is constructed on adjacent land.

The extended Order will now remain in effect until 12 September 2025, or until construction works are completed, whichever is earlier.

Unfortunately, during the operative period of this Order, no alternative route is available via the public rights of way network.

(Bersted: Sun Park Close) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Sun Park Close in Bersted throughout its entire length.

The road closure is needed to allow gas mains to be replaced in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 21 April 2025 and remain in force until 2 May 2025. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Easebourne & Fernhurst: A286) (40 MPH & 50 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made a permanent Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to introduce a 40 MPH speed limit on a length of the A286 from south of Kings Drive/Poors Common Road northwards to a point 180 metres north of Whites Lane. The Order will come into operation on 22 April 2025. Paper copies of documents will not be available to view in council offices or libraries. People without access to a computer who wish to have a copy of the Order should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive a copy by post. Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirements of the act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 17 April 2025, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
