What is happening?

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council has on 8 April 2025 made the CITY OF SALFORD (MONTON AREA, SALFORD) (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE) ORDER 2025 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 

The effect of the Order is to implement a 20mph Speed Limit on the following roads, for their entire length unless otherwise stated: Alfred Street, Algernon Street, Belmont Street, Carlton Street, Crawford Street, Dalton Street, Foundry Close, Francis Street, Gordon Road, Granville Street, Highfield Drive, Howard Avenue, Lansdowne Rd, Mirfield Drive, Nelson Avenue, Partington Street, Stanier Avenue, Vincent Avenue; and Monton Road, from the outer ring roundabout with Monton Green to a point 50m south east from the south eastern extended kerbline of Hawthorn Avenue. The Order will come into effect on 22 April 2025. A copy of the Order and plan are available for inspection at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm. Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within 6 weeks from 8 April 2025 apply to the High Court for such purpose.
