What is happening?

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
A697 WOOPERTON JUNCTION TO WOOLER, WOOLER
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the A697 Wooperton Junction to Wooler, Wooler from its junction with the Riverside Leisure Park access road heading in a southerly direction for a length of 1274 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 21st April 2025 until the 31st October 2025.
It is expected that the road will only be closed on the 22nd April 2025 between the hours of 08:00 until 16:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 31st October 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being A697, B6525, B6353, A1, U3007, B6341, C90 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council to carry out resurfacing works In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
