Public Notices for Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders
The following public notices were served on Thursday 17th April 2025:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Milton Keynes City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following temporary traffic regulation Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
PUBLIC NOTICE 1:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (HIGH STREET, STONY STRATFORD) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025 (Reference TTRO-2133)
the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along the following part of road to allow Openreach to carry out works to pump out a manhole in the carriageway.
For the purpose of the above Order, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter, wait in or proceed along the following lengths of road on 2nd May 2025 (12:30 – 15:30): -
High Street, Stony Stratford – from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Wolverton Road.
Whilst the closure is in place the alternative route will be via Church Street, Silver Street and Horsefair Green (and vice versa).

Public Notices for Permanent Traffic Regulation Orders

PUBLIC NOTICE 2:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF MILTON KEYNES) (VARIOUS ROADS IN MILTON KEYNES AND SURROUNDING AREAS) (20 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION ZONES) ORDER 2021) VARIATION ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Milton Keynes City Council has on 15th April 2025 made the above Traffic Regulation Order, under Sections 82(2) and 83(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The general effect of the above proposed Order will be to introduce 20mph speed zones in Caldecotte, Oxley Park, Woburn Sands and Woolstone.
Following objections received during statutory consultation, the proposed 20mph zone for Newport Pagnell has been removed from the traffic regulation Order.
The made Order will take effect on 18th April 2025.
PUBLIC NOTICE 3:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (ELMSWELL ROAD, WAVENDON) (PROHIBITION OF ENTRY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Milton Keynes City Council has on 15th April 2025 made the above Traffic Regulation Order, under Sections 1(1) and 2(1) to (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The general effect of the above proposed Order will be to prohibit all vehicles from entering along part of Elmswell Road in Wavendon between Butcher Crescent and Stockwell Lane (in both directions), except for buses and pedal cycles.
The made Order will take effect on 18th April 2025.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the made Order or any provision contained in the Orders on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any Instrument made under the Act has not been compiled with may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply to the High Court for that purpose.
PUBLIC NOTICE 4:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, KINGSTON) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Milton Keynes City Council has on 15th April 2025 made the above Traffic Regulation Order, under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The general effect of the above made Order will be as follows:
to introduce prohibition of waiting (at any time) restrictions along parts of Winchester Circle and Lasborough Road in Kingston;
to consolidate the existing prohibition of waiting (at any time) restrictions on those parts of Chippenham Drive, Greyfriars Court, Manderville Drive and Winchester Circle;
to revoke in part, the traffic regulation Order entitled:
Milton Keynes City Council (Various Road in Beanhill, Bletchley, Broughton, Kingston Winterhill) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2022.
The made Order will take effect on 18th April 2025.

PUBLIC NOTICE 5:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, MILTON KEYNES) (40 MPH SPEED RESTRICTIO) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Milton Keynes City Council has on 15th April 2025 made the above Traffic Regulation Order, under Sections 84(1), (2) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The general effect of the above proposed Order will be to introduce a 40mph speed restriction on Brinklow Roundabout and parts of A4146 Tongwell Street (V11) and A421 Standing Way (H8).
The made Order will take effect on 18th April 2025.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the made Order or any provision contained in the Orders on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any Instrument made under the Act has not been compiled with may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply to the High Court for that purpose.
Public Notices for Proposed Traffic Calming Features
The following public notice was served on Thursday 17th April 2025:
PUBLIC NOTICE 6:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (TRAFFIC CALMING SCHEME) (VARIOUS ROADS, FENNY STRATFORD) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Milton Keynes City Council proposes under Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 to construct traffic calming measures consisting of six raised tables on Aylesbury Street, Denmark Street, Eden Close, George Street and Church Street, Fenny Stratford.
The raised tables be situated along the following lengths of road and will be constructed at a height 75mm and will extend across the entire width of the carriageway:
1) Aylesbury Street, Fenny Stratford – from a point 31.9 metres north-east of the centreline of its junction with George Street, for a distance of 7.6 metres in a north-easterly direction.
2) Aylesbury Street, Fenny Stratford – from a point 21.3 metres north-east of of the centreline of its junction with Denmark Street, for a distance of 7.6 metres in a north-easterly direction.
3) Denmark Street, Fenny Stratford – from point of 1.6 metres from junction with Aylesbury Street, for a distance of 8.2 meters in a north-westerly direction.
4) Eden Close, Fenny Stratford – from its junction with Aylesbury Street, for a distance of 4.6 meters in a north-westerly direction.
5) George Street, Fenny Stratford – from its junction with Aylesbury Street, for a distance of 7.6 meters in a north-westerly direction.
6) Church Street, Fenny Stratford – from its junction with Aylesbury Street, for a distance of 4.6 meters in a north-westerly direction.
The Council is now serving formal notification on the proposed traffic calming features and copies of the statement of reason and location plan showing the location of the raised tables may be inspected on the Council’s website at:
www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/consultations.
Any representations about or objections to the proposed traffic calming features, together with the grounds upon which they are made, must be made in writing and sent to the Council’s Traffic Regulation Order Team at Milton Keynes Council, Civic Offices, 1 Saxon Gate East, Central Milton Keynes, MK9 3EJ, or by email to
quoting reference NOT-057 and to be received no later than 8th May 2025. Any representations received will be taken into consideration before the implementation of the scheme.
