What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
B1340 B6347 CHRISTON BANK MAIN ROAD CHRISTON BANK
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the B1340 B6347 Christon Bank Main Road Christon Bank from its junction with Station Cottages, heading north-easterly for a distance of 40 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 28th April 2025 until the 29th April 2025.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 28th April 2025 until the 29th April 2025 between the hours of 23:00 and 06:00 during this period.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being B6347, C69, C71 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Chevron TM on behalf of Network Rail to lift out the level crossing to allow tamper works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
