What is happening?
A2070 TRUNK ROAD – FINN FARM ROUNDABOUT TO ASHFORD ROAD OVERBRIDGE TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A2070 Trunk Road in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order is to:-
1) impose a 24-hour 40mph speed restriction on both carriageways of the A2070 between Finn Farm Roundabout and the centreline of Ashford Road overbridge; and
2) to authorise the 24-hour closure of both of the lay-bys adjacent to the carriageways described in 1) above.
These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake barrier, traffic signalling and all associated works.
It is expected that the work will last for approximately 10 weeks starting on or after Monday 5th May 2025.
The Order will come into force on 3rd May 2025 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
The temporary speed limit and lay-by closures will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
