Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council propose to make an order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the Order will be to implement charging regimes at the Roath Road Car Park in Portishead. The details of the charges which include times of operation and other details are described in the Schedules to this notice. The proposals and details are contained in the proposed Order together with the plan referred to in Schedule 1 and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected at Portishead Library, Horatio House, 24 Harbour Road, Portishead, BS20 7AL or at

Any person wishing to make any observations on this proposal (whether you support or object to the proposal) you should make them in writing to David Bailey, Lead Engineer, North Somerset Council, Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1UJ or email traffic.orders@n-somerset.gov.uk under reference OSP/DB/2505 by 5 pm on Friday 9 May 2025. Any objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. All representations received may be considered in public by the council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could be made available for public inspection.

Schedule 1 – Roath Road Car Park, Portishead. Plan IT1251. Motor Cars (except Hackney Carriages) charges (between 9am and 6pm Mon-Sat) 1 hour £1, 2 hours £1.50, 3 hours £2.50. All-day £3.00. Disabled persons permitted additional five, free of charge.

Schedule 2 – Disabled persons permitted additional five, free of charge.

Schedule 3 – Resident Parking Permit for Portishead ROI £60 per annum.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Downside Road, Backwell, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025

Date coming into Force: 13 June 2025

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by National Grid for reinstatement of temporary junction. This order will become operative on the 16 June 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the junction works which is anticipated to be 26 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Date coming into Force: 14 May 2025

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to replace a stop tap. This order will become operative on the 14 May 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Fearnhill Estate, Clevedon, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025

Date coming into Force: 22 April 2025

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities to lay new gas service. This order will become operative on the 22 April 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 4 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to place a pole. This order will become operative on the 3 May 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Virgin Media to rectify defect in carriageway. This order will become operative on the 26 April 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration between 8am and 6pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Gigaclear to replace a pole. This order will become operative on the 22 April 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 7 hours in duration between 8.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order will become operative on the 23 April 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to cut off old supply. This order will become operative on the 1 May 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 day in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
