What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
PART OF MAIN STREET, EVERINGHAM
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding on
foot/whether on foot, pedal cycle or on horseback
along part of Main Street, Everingham from a property
called Laithe House to a property called Rectory
Cottage commencing 28 April 2025 until 2 May
2025. The reason for the closure is to enable the
proposed Main Street, Everingham new electrical
connection works, to be carried out and completed
in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of
the public. It is anticipated that the works will be
completed within five days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via Main Street, Southfield Lane, Bull Lane, Harswell
Lane, A614 Market Weighton Road, A614 Gallymoor
Roundabout, A614 Shipton Lane, A614 Holme Road,
A1079 Shiptonthorpe Roundabout, A1079 York Road
and Thorpe Le Street Road, Holme Upon Spalding
Moor CP, Hayton CP, Shiptonthorpe CP, Everingham CP,
Howdenshire Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The road will be closed to all traffic but access will be
maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and
pedestrians.
The Order will commence 28 April 2025 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out have been completed, whichever is the
