Albert Road - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?
THE BOROUGH OF LUTON
(VARIOUS ROADS)
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES) (No.11) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, intends to make the above Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The Order will come into operation on 12th May 2025 for a period of 18 months or when the proposed works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. Specific dates and times will be signed locally. The Order will therefore be in operation during such date and time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs, barriers or cones.
The effect of the Order will allow the Council to close to vehicular traffic the following roads and lengths of roads:
Albert Road from its junction with Arthur Street to its junction with Baker Street. Diversion route via Arthur Street, Hoo Street, Baker Street. Alternatively, via Baker Street, Ashton Road, Hibbert Street. Alternatively, via Baker Street, Chase Street, New Town Street, Albert Road. Anticipated date and times of closure 12th May 2025 to 14th May 2025, 9am to 4pm.
Mangrove Road from a point outside 49 Mangrove Road to a point outside 51 Mangrove Road. Diversion route via Mangrove Road, Littlefield Road, Lamers Road. Anticipated date and times of closure 12th May 2025 to 15th May 2025 for 24 hours.
The Order is intended to create a window for the works to be done and it is anticipated that the works will be completed over a period as described above. The purpose of the Order is to enable Affinity Water to carry out water connection works. Access will be maintained as best as possible to properties where this may be done safely whilst such works are being carried out and diversions for traffic where available will be marked by signs.
