What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WATFORD HEATH, WATFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Watford Heath, Watford from a point in line with the entrance to the rear of ‘The Royal Oak PH’ south eastwards for a distance of approximately 10m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Bushey Heath, A4008 Pinner Road and Watford Heath.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CAISHOWE ROAD, BOREHAMWOOD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Caishowe Road, Borehamwood from a point 13m south west of its junction with Elstree and Borehamwood Public Footpath No.035 south westwards for a distance of approximately 33m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Caishowe Road, Oddesey Road, Hartforde Road and Caishowe Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CLARENDON ROAD, WATFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Clarendon Road, Watford from its junction with Shady Lane northwards to its junction with Station Road, a distance of approximately 168m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Shady Lane, St Johns Road and Woodford Road
or via Station Road, 412 St Albans Road, St Johns Road and Clarendon Road.
The Order is needed because mobile crane access works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BARTON WAY AND ABERFORD ROAD, BOREHAMWOOD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-
that length of Barton Way, Borehamwood from its junction with Aberford Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 29m.
An alternative route will be via Aberford Road and Barton Way.
that length of Aberford Road, Borehamwood from its junction with Barton Way north eastwards for a distance of approximately 15m.
An alternative route will be via Barton Way, Croxdale Road, Theobald Street, Gateshead Road, Brook Road and Aberford Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HENBURY WAY, SOUTH OXHEY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Henbury Way, South Oxhey from a point 65m north west of its junction with Oxhey Drive north westwards for a distance of approximately 15m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Henbury Way, Oxhey Drive, Gosforth Lane, Fairfield Avenue and Henbury Way.
The Order is needed because duct laying works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTIONS ON A405 NORTH ORBITAL ROAD, WATFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from being at a speed exceeding 30mph on the north eastbound carriageway of A405 North Orbital Road, Watford from a point 570m north east of its junction with A41 North Western Avenue/High Road roundabout north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”), when signs are in place.
The Order is needed because telecoms works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 14 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ELSTREE AND BOREHAMWOOD PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.023) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using Elstree and Borehamwood Public Footpath No.023 from its junction with Park Crescent north westwards to its junction with Elstree and Borehamwood Public Footpath No.011, a distance of approximately 48m (“the Public Footpath”).
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the west side of Parks Crescent, the footway situated on the west side of Links Drive, the footpath situated on the south side of Links Drive, the footway situated on the north side of B5378 Allum Lane, the cycle track situated to the rear of Nos.1-37 Barman Avenue and Elstree and Borehamwood Public Footpath No.011.
The Order is needed because sewer works are proposed to be executed on or near the Public Footpath.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 14 April 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Public Footpath.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Crossmead, Watford from its junction with Colne Avenue north eastwards and south westwards for its entire length (“the Road”), except for access.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 14 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
that length of Otley Way, South Oxhey from its junction with Ainsdale Road north eastwards to its junction with Gosforth Lane, a distance of approximately 282m.
An alternative route will be via Ainsdale Road, Oxhey Drive and Gosforth Lane.
that length of Turnberry Court, South Oxhey from its junction with Otley Way north westwards and south westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 12 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BULLSLAND LANE, CHORLEYWOOD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bullsland Lane, Chorleywood from a point in line with the north eastern boundary of No.47 Bullsland Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 38m (“the Road”), except for access.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because water main repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 16 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B4542 Little Oxhey Lane, South Oxhey from a point 158m north east of its junction with Altham Way north eastwards for a distance of approximately 75m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via B4542 (Little Oxhey Lane/Prestwick Road/Brookdene Avenue), A412 (Rickmansworth Road), A411 Chalk Hill, A4008 (Aldenham Road/Exchange Road/Oxhey Lane) and B4542 Little Oxhey Lane
or via B4542 Little Oxhey Lane, A4008 (Oxhey Lane/Pinner Road), A4125 (Eastbury Road/Hamppermill Lane) and B4542 (Brookdene Avenue/Prestwick Road/Little Oxhey Lane).
The Order is needed because bridge inspection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 19 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED BETWEEN NO.1 AND NO.2 SUTTON PATH, BOREHAMWOOD AND ABBOTS LANGLEY PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.033) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following length of footpath (“the Footpath”) and public footpath (“the Public Footpath”):-
the footpath situated between No.1 and No.2 Sutton Path, Borehamwood from its junction with Stanfield Road south westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for pedestrians when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties alongside this footpath will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
that length of Abbots Langley Public Footpath No.033 from its junction with Marlin Square south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 145m.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the west side of Marlin Square, Abbots Langley Public Footpath No.035, Abbots Langley Public Footpath No.036, the footway situated on the east side of Tibbs Hill Road, the footway situated on the west side of Tibbs Hill Road and Abbots Langley Public Footpath No.033.
The Orders are needed because sewer works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpath and Public Footpath.
The Orders have been made and shall come into force on 14 April 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath and Public Footpath.
