What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C1011 NEAR SCALEBY AND U2262 WATER STREET, WIGTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along the following sections of road:

  1. C1011 near Scaleby, from its junction with the U1341, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 150m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1011, A6071, C1013 Irthington, A689 and C1012

    Duration: From 29 April 2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/14142)

  2. U2262 Water Street, Wigton from its junction with Proctor’s Square, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 60m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Water Street, Proctor’s Square, High Street and West Street.

    Duration: From 29 April 2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/14166)

The Order will come into operation on 29 April 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
