What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C2051 AND U2337 NEAR OULTON AND U2011 FINGLAND) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along the following sections of road:

  1. C2051 near Oulton, from its junction with the U2337, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 530m to its junction with the C2040; and

  2. U2337 near Oulton, from its junction with the C2051, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 160m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C2051, C2040 Oulton and U2055.

    Duration: From 14 April 2025 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROC/13754)

  3. U2011 Fingland from its junction with the B5307, extending in an overall south easterly direction for approx. 1.2 km.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U2011, U2012 Longrigg and B5307.

    Duration: From 28 April 2025 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROC/13752)

The Order will come into operation on 14 April 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
