The Isle of Wight Council’s Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the following Orders

The Isle of Wight Council (Chale Street, Chale, Isle of Wight)

(Temporary Road Closure) Order No 2 2025

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift, between Tuesday 22 April 2025, and Thursday 24 April 2025, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Chale Street, Chale, between its junctions with Chale Footpath 4 and its junction with Gotten Lane. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repair works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Whitcombe Road, Newport, Isle of Wight)

(Temporary Road Closure) Order No 3 2025

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift, between Tuesday 22 April 2025, and Thursday 24 April 2025, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Whitcombe Road, Newport, between its junctions with Newport Bridleway 109 and its junction with Froglands Lane. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repair work.

(Temporary Road Closure) Order No 1 2025

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift, between Tuesday 22 April 2025, and Thursday 24 April 2025, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Moons Hill, Totland, between its junctions with Briary Lane and its junction with Middleton. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during Ironwork repair.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift, between Tuesday 22 April 2025, and Thursday 24 April 2025, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Victoria Street, Ryde, between its junctions with Garfield Road and its junction with Victoria Place. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during Carriageway repairs.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift, between Wednesday 23 April 2025, and Friday 25 April 2025, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Bowcombe Road, Carisbrooke, between its junctions with Shorwell Bridleway 48 and its junction with Newport Bridleway 142. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during Drainage CCTV Survey.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift, on Tuesday 29 April 2025, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Bullen Road, Ryde, between its junctions with Great Preston Road and its junction with Pondwell Hill. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during Tree Removal Works.

(Temporary Road Closure and Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 2 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Monday 21 April 2025 until 1800 hours on Monday 28 April 2025, or when the works have been completed, George Street will be closed between its junctions with Melville Street and Castle Street. The one-way restriction along George Street will be revoked for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for utility works.

(Temporary 30 mph Speed Restriction) Order No 1 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1900 hours on Tuesday 22 April 2025 until 2359 hours on Sunday 4 May 2025, or when the works have been completed, There will be a temporary speed restriction along a) Parkhurst Road, between its junction with Horsebridge Hill and Lonsdale Avenue and b) Horsebridge Hill, between its junction with Parkhurst Road and its junction with Nicholson Street. On-street signage will depict the exact lengths. The restriction is required for utility works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Yelfs Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight)

(Temporary Road Closure) Order No 1 2025

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Monday 21 April 2025 until 1800 hours on Thursday 24 April 2025, or when the works have been completed, Yelfs Road will be closed for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for utility works.

(Temporary Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 2 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0001 hours on Friday 18 April 2025 until 2359 hours on Friday 30 May 2025, for 1–15 days, or when the works have been completed, the one-way restriction will be revoked along Canoe Lake Road between its junctions with Esplanade and North Walk. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The revocation is required during works for carriageway maintenance, surfacing, lining and cats’ eyes. On-street signage will depict the exact dates and times when the revocation will be in effect.

(Temporary No Waiting at Any Time Parking Restriction) Order No 2 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0001 hours on Friday 18 April 2025 until 2359 hours on Friday 30 May 2025, for 1–15 days, or when the works have been completed, a ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ parking restriction will be introduced along Canoe Lake Road, on the south side, between its junctions with Esplanade and North Walk. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required during works for carriageway maintenance, surfacing, lining and cats’ eyes. On-street signage will depict the exact dates and times when this restriction will be in effect.

(Temporary Road Closure) Order No 1 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours on Monday 21 April 2025 until 1700 hours on Friday 9 May 2025, or when the works have been completed, Fitzroy Street will be closed between its junctions with Station Avenue and Grafton Lane. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for utility works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Cycle Track from Sandown to Newport, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians and Cyclists) Order No 1 2025

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 18 April 2025 and Friday 30 May 2025 the following roads will be closed between either 0600 and 1800 or at all times for a period of approximately one to 15 days within this period, or when the works have been completed, to enable carriageway maintenance, surfacing, lining and cats eye works to be undertaken. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads: and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road were indicated by traffic signs. These works may include carriageway and footway reconstruction, resurfacing works, reflective stud work and lining works. In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and on street advanced warning signs before the scheme commences.
