What is happening?

Coggeshall Road, Kelvedon – Temporary Traffic Order

(Coggeshall Road, Kelvedon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Coggeshall Road, Kelvedon in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Kings Meadow Court for a distance of approximately 340m in a north westerly then north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st April 2025 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP202531012369 – Elan Civil Engineering Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while road construction works are undertaken by Elan Civil Engineering Ltd.

An alternative route is available via West Street, Market End, East Street, Colchester Road, A120, London Road, Lexden Road, Eastbourn, Maldon Road, Shrub End Road, Maldon Road, South End Road, Shrub End Roundabout, Maldon Road South, Maldon Road, Colchester Road, Maypole Road, Kelvedon Road, Feering Hill and vice versa (access only to Kings Station Road, Coggeshall Road, Kelvedon Road, Grange Hill and Bridge Street).

The Order came into effect on 4th April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
