Hertfordshire, Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Service Works
What is happening?
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WATSONS WALK, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Watsons Walk, St Albans from its junction with Albert Street north eastwards to its junction with Waverley Road, a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Watsons Walk, Cottonmill Lane, Mile House Lane, A1081 London Road and Watsons Walk.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 29 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF U6183 (UNNAMED ROAD), REDBOURN) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of U6183 (unnamed road), Redbourn from a point approximately 20m west of its junction with Waterend Lane north westwards for a distance of approximately 300m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via U6183 (unnamed road), Waterend Lane, Hemel Hempstead Lane, Rey Road, Crown Street and U6183 (unnamed road).
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON ALBERT STREET, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of road (“the Roads”):
The entire length of the north-east side of Albert Street, St Albans from its junction with Victoria Street south-eastwards to No.28 Albert Street at some locations as indicated by signs or by water-filled barriers, a distance of approximately 30m, and
The entire length of the south-west side of Albert Street, St Albans from its junction with Keyfield Terrace, a distance of approximately 30m, and
The alternative route will be via Albert Street, A5183 Holywell Hill, A1081 London Road, Watsons Walk, Old London Road and Keyfield Terrace.
The works will be carried out in stages with one side of the street closed at a time with traffic management and give and take traffic arrangements in place. Where possible a width of 2.8m (minimum 3.0m where bus stops temporarily suspended to enable a vehicle to reverse) will be maintained at the junctions.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 28 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF FOLLY FIELDS, WHEATHAMPSTEAD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Folly Fields, Wheathampstead from a point in line with the southern boundary of No.13 Folly Fields north eastwards for a distance of approximately 17m (“the Road”), except for access.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. Where possible vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained when not obstructed by the execution of the works.
The Order is needed because utility service installation works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 30 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE SERVICE ROAD FRONTING NOS.58-78 ST PETERS STREET, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the service road fronting Nos.58-78 Peters Street, St Albans from its junction with the A1081 Hatfield Road/A1057 Catherine Street roundabout north-westwards and south-westwards to its junction with A1081 St Peters Street, a distance of approximately 92m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via A1081 St Peters Street.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 14 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF LOOM LANE, RADLETT) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Loom Lane, Radlett from a point 170m south west of its junction with A5183 Watling Street south westwards for a distance of approximately 94m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Loom Lane, A5183 Watling Street, Aldenham Road, Christchurch Crescent, Loom Place and Loom Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 12 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Maple Road, Harpenden from its junction with Longcroft Avenue north westwards for a distance of approximately 42m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Townsend Lane, Longcroft Avenue, Park Avenue North and Maple Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 15 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Leasey Bridge Lane/Cherry Tree Lane, Wheathampstead from a point in line with the southern boundary of No.2 Leasey Bridge Lane south westwards to a point north eastwards of Leasey Bridge Lane, a distance of approximately 60m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Leasey Bridge Lane, Wheathampstead Road, Marford Road, Beechwood Ave, B651 (High Street/Southgate Street), Codicote Road and Cherry Tree Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 15 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN HOUSE LANE, SANDRIDGE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of House Lane, Sandridge from its junction with Sandringham School East gates to its junction with No.65 (The Shutters), a distance of approximately 350m (“the Road”), except for access.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. Where possible vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained when not obstructed by the execution of the works.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
