Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
TUNBRIDGE WELLS AREA
A229 Highgate Hill, Hawkhurst TN18 4LH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & NO WAITING RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A229 Highgate Hill, Hawkhurst, on or after 7th May 2025 for up to 53 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of A268 Rye Road to the junction of Mercers, between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 on Monday to Friday, 08:00 and 17:00 on Saturdays and 09:00 and 17:00 on Sundays only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
A no parking restriction will be in place on A229 Highgate Hill. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A229 Highgate Hill, A229 Moor Hill, A229 The Moor, A229 Horns Hill, A229 Horns Road, A229 Horns Hill, A229 Merriments Lane, A21 London Road, A268 Hawkhurst Road, A268 High Street and vice versa.
Albion Road, Royal Tunbridge Wells, TN1 2NY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow sewer repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Albion Road, Royal Tunbridge Wells, on or after 22nd April 2025 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Irving House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Quarry Road, Western Road, St. James Road, Beulah Road, Granville Road, Albion Road and vice versa.
Brenchley Road, Matfield, TN12 7JL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Brenchley Road, Tonbridge, on or after 27th April 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Thorn House, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Brenchley Road, High Street, Horsmonden Road, Brenchley Road, The Heath, B2162 Lamberhurst Road, B2162 Horsmonden Road, A262 Horsmonden Road, A21 Forstal Farm Roundabout, A21 Lamberhurst Quarter, A21 Lamberhurst By-pass, A21 Blue Boys Roundabout, A21 Lamberhurst By-pass, A21 Kippings Cross Roundabout, B2160 Maidstone Road and vice versa.
Curtisden Green Lane, Goudhurst TN17 1LD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow overhead structure maintenance to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Curtisden Green Lane, Goudhurst, on or after 11th May 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of B2079 Winchet Hill to the junction of Jarvis Lane, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2079 Winchet Hill, B2079 Summerhill, B2079 North Road, B2084 Chequers Road, A262 Cranbrook Road, A262 Goudhurst Road, Colliers Green Road, Round Green Lane, Horden Road, Jarvis Lane, Curtisden Green Lane and vice versa.
Delmonden Lane, Hawkhurst (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Delmonden Lane, Hawkhurst, on or after 7th May 2025 for up to 53 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of North Hill Road to the junction of A268 High Street. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A268 High Street, North Hill Road and vice versa.
Ladham Road, Goudhurst, TN17 1NA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow overhead cable disconnection to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ladham Road, Goudhurst, on or after 22nd April 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Strawberry Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ladham Road, Jarvis Lane, B2084 Chequers Road, Ladham Road and vice versa.
Ladham Road, Goudhurst, TN17 1LU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ladham Road, Goudhurst, on or after 28th April 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside The Hollow. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ladham Road, Jarvis Lane, B2084 Chequers Road and vice versa.
Modest Corner, Southborough TN4 0LS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow sewer cleaning works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Modest Corner, Southborough, on or after 6th May 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside 2 Birch View, between the hours of 09:00 and 16:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic and access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.
Upper Grosvenor Road Gas Main Replacement Programme, Royal Tunbridge Wells (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF LEFT-TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Various Roads, Royal Tunbridge Wells, on or after 5th May 2025 for up to 154 days or until the works have been completed.

Will be closed from the junction of Grosvenor Bridge to North Farm Road.
The alternative route for any northbound through traffic is via Upper Grosvenor Road, Meadow Road, Goods Station Road, Grosvenor Road, A26 St. Johns Road, Powder Mill Lane, High Brooms Road, Highfield Road, High Brooms Road, North Farm Road and Upper Grosvenor Road.
The alternative route for any southbound through traffic is via Upper Grosvenor Road, North Farm Road, High Brooms Road, Powder Mill Lane, A26 St Johns Road, Grosvenor Road and Upper Grosvenor Road.
North Farm Road, Royal Tunbridge Wells – 05/05/2025 to 01/06/2025
Will be closed from Upper Grosvenor Road to Property number 38.
The alternative route for any northbound through traffic is via Upper Grosvenor Road, Meadow Road, Goods Station Road, Grosvenor Road, A26 St. Johns Road, Powder Mill Lane, High Brooms Road, Highfield Road, High Brooms Road, North Farm Road and Upper Grosvenor Road.
The alternative route for any southbound through traffic is via Upper Grosvenor Road, North Farm Road, High Brooms Road, Powder Mill Lane, A26 St Johns Road, Grosvenor Road and Upper Grosvenor Road.
Sandhurst Road, Royal Tunbridge Wells – 05/05/2025 to 01/06/2025
Will be closed from the junction of Upper Grosvenor Road to the junction of Temple Way.
The alternative route for any westbound through traffic is via Sandhurst Road, A264 Pembury Road, A264 Calverley Road, A264 Crescent Road, A264 Church Road, A26 London Road, A26 Mount Ephraim, A26 St Johns Road, Powder Mill Lane, High Brooms Road, Highfield Road, North Farm Road and Upper Grosvenor Road.
The alternative route for any eastbound through traffic is via Sandhurst Road, Upper Grosvenor Road, North Farm Road, High Brooms Road, Powder Mill Lane, A26 St Johns Road, A26 Mount Ephraim, A26 London Road, A264 Church Road, A264 Crescent Road, A264 Calverley Road, A264 Pembury Road, Sandhurst Road.
Cambrian Road, Royal Tunbridge Wells – 05/05/2025 to 01/06/2025
Will be closed outside the Church of Christ.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Woodland Road, Silverdale Road, Queens Road, A26 St Johns Road, Yew Tree Road, High Brooms Road, Highfield Road, High Brooms Road, North Farm Road, Upper Grosvenor Road.
Dynevor Road, Royal Tunbridge Wells – 05/05/2025 to 01/06/2025
Will be closed from the junction of Upper Grosvenor Road to property number 2.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dynevor Road, Woodland Road, Silverdale Road and vice versa.
Silverdale Road, Royal Tunbridge Wells – 02/06/2025 to 29/06/2025
Will be closed outside properties 185 and 187.
A No Left-turn will be imposed at the junction of Silverdale Road and Upper Grosvenor Road
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Silverdale Road, Woodland Road, Dynevor Road and vice versa.
Silverdale Lane, Royal Tunbridge Wells – 30/06/2025 to 05/10/2025
Will be closed from the junction of Upper Grosvenor Road to 15m northeast of the junction of Upper Grosvenor Road.
The alternative route for through traffic from Silverdale Road to Upper Grosvenor Road is via Silverdale Road, Queens Road, A26 St Johns Road, Yew Tree Lane, High Brooms Road, Highfield Road, High Brooms Road, North Farm Road, Upper Grosvenor Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic from Upper Grosvenor Road to Silverdale Road is via Upper Grosvenor Road, Silverdale Road, Silverdale Lane.
Queens Road, Royal Tunbridge Wells – 30/06/2025 to 05/10/2025
Will be closed from the junction of Upper Grosvenor Road to the junction of Silverdale Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Queens Road, Dunstan Road and vice versa.
Hasletts Close, Royal Tunbridge Wells – 30/06/2025 to 05/10/2025
Will be closed from the junction of Upper Grosvenor Road to property number 1.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic and access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.
