Maidstone, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

HIGHWAYS

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AREA

Bicknor Lane, Bicknor, ME9 8BA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bicknor Lane, Bicknor, on or after 24th April 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Plackett’s Hole. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bicknor Lane, Bicknor Road, Church Lane, Kennel Barn Road, Deans Bottom and vice versa.

 

Blind Lane, Bredhurst ME7 3JR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre cable installation to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Blind Lane, Bredhurst, on or after 9th May 2025 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Forge Lane, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic and access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.

 

Bow Bridge, Wateringbury, ME18 5EA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow level crossing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bow Bridge, Wateringbury, on or after 26th April 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the level crossing, from 23:30 on 26th April 2025 to 04:00 on 28th April 2025. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bow Bridge, Bow Hill, Kenward Road, B2010 Yalding Hill, B2010 High Street, B2162 Benover Road, B2162 Hampstead Lane, B2015 Maidstone Road and vice versa.

 

Couchman Green Lane, Staplehurst, TN12 0RS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow highway repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Couchman Green Lane, Staplehurst, on or after 22nd April 2025 for up to 101 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Badge House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Couchman Green Lane, Headcorn Road, Station Road, Maidstone Road and vice versa.

 

George Street, Hunton, ME15 0RE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of George Street, Hunton, on or after 25th April 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 60m south of Martins Farm House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via East Street, Redwall Lane, George Street and vice versa.

 

Holly Farm Road, Otham ME15 8RZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Holly Farm Road, Otham, on or after 8th May 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Avery Lane, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic and access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.

 

Kemsley Street Road, Bredhurst (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre and ducting installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Kemsley Street Road, Bredhurst, on or after 22nd April 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of The Street to the junction of Matts Hill Road, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Matts Hill Road, Mierscourt Road, Tyler Drive, Deanwood Drive, Maidstone Road, The Street and vice versa.

 

Kenward Road, Yalding (TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow HV cable installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily restrict through traffic on part of Kenward Road, Yalding, on or after 22nd April 2025 for up to 18 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be restricted to 30mph from property number 2 to 22. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

Runham Lane, Harrietsham (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow drainage improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Runham Lane, Harrietsham, on or after 19th May 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Hope Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Runham Lane, Lenham Road, Headcorn Road, Sandway Road and vice versa.

 

Stilebridge Lane, Linton ME17 4DE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow drainage improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stilebridge Lane, Linton, on or after 7th May 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Stilebridge Stableyard. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stilebridge Lane, Butt Green Lane, A229 Linton Hill, Stilebridge Lane and vice versa.

 

Upper Fant Road, Maidstone, ME16 8LQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow manhole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Upper Fant Road, Maidstone, on or after 23rd April 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction of Dover Street, between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Upper Fant Road, St Michaels Road, A26 Tonbridge Road, Fant Lane, Hackney Road and vice versa.

 

Upper Street & Lower Street (Broomfield Road), Broomfield, ME17 1PR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Upper Street & Lower Street, Broomfield, on or after 24th April 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Upper Street Cottage to Saint Margaret Church, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Street, Broomfield Road, A20 Ashford Road, Chegworth Road, Lenham Road, Gravelly Bottom Road, Broomfield Road, Upper Street and vice versa.

 

Yelsted Road, Yelsted, ME9 7UT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Yelsted Road, Yelsted, on or after 24th April 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Yelsted Farm to Homestead Farm, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Yelsted Road, Yaugher Lane, Magpie Lane, Cox Street, Yelsted Lane and vice versa.

 

Various Roads, Maidstone  (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on Various Roads in Maidstone, on or after 21st April 2025 for up to 134 days or until the works have been completed.

Various Roads in Maidstone will be closed, as per the below schedule:

Works Schedule:

Northdown Close, Maidstone
Will be closed from the junction of Boxley Road.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic and access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.

Pine Grove, Maidstone
Will be closed from the junction of Boxley Road.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic and access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.

Chattenden Court, Maidstone
Will be closed from the junction of Boxley Road.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic and access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.

Heathfield Road, Maidstone
Will be closed from outside property number 50 to 58.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Boxley Road, Penenden Heath Road, Heathfield Road and vice versa.

Curzon Road, Maidstone
Will be closed between the junctions of Boxley Road and Wheeler Street.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wheeler Street, Salisbury Road, Boxley Road and vice versa.

Penenden Heath Road, Maidstone
Will be closed from the junction of A249 Sittingbourne Road and Boxley Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A249 Sittingbourne Road, B2012 Holland Road, B2012 Well Road, Boxley Road and vice versa.

Faraday Road, Maidstone
Will be closed from the junction of Penenden Heath Road.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic and access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.

Sandy Lane, Maidstone
Will be closed from the junction of Penenden Heath Road.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic and access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.

Boxley Road, Maidstone
Will be closed in phases between the junctions of Penenden Heath Road to B2012 Well Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Boxley Road, B2012 Lower Boxley Road, B2012 Staceys Street, A229 Royal Engineers Road, A229 The Running Horse Roundabout, Sandling Lane and vice versa.
