What is happening?
HIGHWAYS
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
GRAVESHAM AREA
A226 Gravesend Road, Shorne DA12 3JL (CYCLE LANE SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of the replacement of a streetlight column, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on part of A226 Gravesend Road, Shorne, on or after 6th May 2025 for up to 1 day between 09:30hrs and 16:30hrs or until the works have been completed.
The cycle lane will be suspended between Telephone Exchange and Crown Cottage.
A226 Lord Street, Gravesend. DA12 9SW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPEND ONE WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of water mains repair, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A226 Lord Street, Gravesend, on or after 9th May 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed. The One Way will be suspended to allow access.
The road will be closed at the junction with Windmill Street.
The alternative route is via Parrock Street, Parrock Road, B261 Old Road East, Windmill Street, Woodville Place, A226 Wrotham Road, Railway Place, Windmill Street.
A226 Rochester Road, Gravesend, DA12 4TB (CYCLE LANE SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on part of A226 Rochester Road, Gravesend, between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs from 21st April 2025, with estimated completion by 25th April 2025 or until the works have been completed.
The cycle lane will be suspended between Ponderosa and Castle Lane.
Alfred Place, Northfleet, DA11 7AN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of a new electricity supply, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Alfred Place, Northfleet, on or after 22nd April 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 33.
There is no alternative route but access will be maintained when safe to do so.
Foxendown Lane, Meopham, DA13 0AE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of drainage maintenance works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Foxendown Lane, Meopham, on or after 22nd April 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Foxendown Farm.
The alternative route is via The Street, A227 Wrotham Road, Green Lane, Camer Park Road, Foxendown Lane and vice versa.
Newlands Lane, Meopham DA13 0RD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of Southern Water works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Newlands Lane, Meopham, on or after 6th May 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Triple Oak.
The alternative route is via Newlands Lane, Whitepost Lane, A227 Wrotham Road and vice versa.
VARIOUS ROADS, GRAVESHAM (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
Because of Various Survey activities to be undertaken for National Highways, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic as per the below.
A289 Wainscott Northern Bypass Westbound Full Closure from 5th May to 17th May 2025 Monday to Friday only 2000hrs to 0600hrs
Diversion is to be via; the A226 Gravesend Road, A226 Rochester Road, A226 East Milton Road, A226 Milton Road, A226 Parrock Road, A226 Lord Street, A226 Windmill Street, A226 Woodville Place, A227 Wrotham Road, A226 Rathmore Road, A226 Darnley Road, A226 Overcliffe, A226 London Road, A226 Thames Way, A2260 Ebbsfleet Gateway, and the A2260 Southfleet Road towards the A2 Springhead Interchange.
A289 Wainscott Northern Bypass Exit Slip Closure from 17th May to 6th June 2025 Monday to Friday only 2000hrs to 0600hrs Excluding Bank Holidays
Diversion via; the A289 Gadds Hill, A226 Gravesend Road, A2 London Road, A2 High Street, A2 Rochester Bridge, A2 Corporation Street, A2 Star Hill, A229 City Way, A229 Horstead Roundabout, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Lord Lees Roundabout, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip Link Bridge, A229 Taddington Wood Roundabout to the M2 JCT 3 entry slip road.
Three Crutches Slip Eastbound Closure from the 17th May to 6th June 2025 Mon to Friday only 2000hrs to 0600hrs Excluding Bank Holidays
This will be automatically closed due to the A2 Eastbound being closed from Tollgate Junction.
B262 Hall Road, Southfleet/Northfleet from the 17th May to 6th June 2025 Mon to Friday only 2000hrs to 0600hrs Excluding Bank Holidays
Prohibition of a left and right hand turn order only to stop traffic being able to turn onto the A2 Eastbound from the B262 Hall Road in each direction.
Diversion via the A2 WB, exit at Ebbsfleet, A2260 Southfleet Road, A2260 Ebbsfleet Gateway, A226 Thames Way, A226 London Road, A226 Overcliffe, A226 Bath Street, A226 West Street, A226 Crooked Lane, A226 The Terrace, A226 Harmer Street, A226 Berkley Crescent, A226 Milton Road, A226 East Milton Road, A226 Rochester Road, A226 Gravesend Road and the A289 Wainscott By-Pass.
