A65, Lupton - Temporary Road Closure due to Highway Works
What is happening?
ADVISORY NOTICE
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS IN WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) (NO.12) ORDER 2024
Westmorland and Furness Council made an order to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”) which came into operation on 1st October 2024.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along those lengths of road specified within its schedule, but only in respect of Number 2 that section of the A65, Lupton, from a point approx. 1km north west of its junction with Hophouse Lane, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 1.2 km.
The Works have been rescheduled and will be carried out under the provisions of the above stated Order on 14th April 2025, with the restriction expected to be in place for an approx. duration of 3 nights between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 ONLY, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route will be signed and made available as follows;
Alternative route for motorway traffic: via the unrestricted sections of the A65, A683, A684 and the M6.
Alternative route for non motorway traffic: via the unrestricted sections of the A65, A683, A684, Sandylands Road, A685, A65 and the A6.
