What is happening?
HIGHWAYS
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
DOVER AREA
Brewer Street, Deal, CT14 6TR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Brewer Street, Deal, on or after 5th May 2025 for up to 26 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 1A, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Brewer Street, Beach Street, Oak Street, Middle Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Church Street, Eastry (PROHIBITION OF PARKING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow construction works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit parking on part of Church Street, Eastry, on or after 5th May 2025 for up to 485 days or until the works have been completed.
The restriction will be imposed from outside number 2 to outside Eastry Bowling Club, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Heronden Road, Eastry (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Heronden Road, Eastry, on or after 23rd April 2025 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Lower Heronden Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Heronden Road, Sandwich Road, Hammill Road, Drainless Road, Foxborough Hill, Woodnesborough Lane, Gore Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Hoaden Lane, Ash, CT3 2LJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hoaden Lane, Ash, on or after 7th May 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Westholm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hoaden Lane, Church Hill, Padbrook Lane, Sheerwater Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Little Haynes, Shepherdswell, CT15 7LY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Little Haynes, Shepherdswell, on or after 6th May 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the entrance of Little Haynes for approximately 100m in a Northerly direction, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Little Haynes, Church Road, Coldred Road, Mill Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Lower Road, Staple, CT3 1LH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lower Road, Staple, on or after 23rd April 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside number 2 to outside number 3, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via School Lane, Buckland Lane, Mill Road, Mill Lane, Barnsole Road, Lower Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Strand Street, Sandwich, CT13 9EZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Strand Street, Sandwich, on or after 6th May 2025 for up to 7 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 44, between the hours of 23:30 and 06:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Strand Street, High Street, The Chain, Galliard Street, New Street, Dover Road, Deal Road, A258 Deal Road, A256 Sandwich Bypass and Ash Road.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Strand Street, Ash Road, A256 Sandwich Bypass, A258 Deal Road, Deal Road, Dover Road, New Street, No Name Street, Delf Street, Market Street, The Butchery and Harnet Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Sutherland Road, Deal CT14 9TE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sutherland Road, Deal, on or after 6th May 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 18, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Street, West Hougham, CT15 7BQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Street, West Hougham, on or after 6th May 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction of Queens Lea to outside number 10, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Broadsole Lane, Eight Acres, The Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Wellington Road, Deal, CT14 7AS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wellington Road, Deal, on or after 23rd April 2025 for up to 14 days or until the works have been completed.
The restrictions will be imposed between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only.
Wellington Road will be closed from outside number 29 to the junction of Victoria Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The one-way Order will be suspended from outside number 29 to the junction of Blenheim Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Blenheim Road, Gilford Road, A258 Victoria Road, A258 Ranelagh Road, A258 Prince of Wales Terrace, A258 Beach Street, South Street and Victoria Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Various Roads, Deal (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, Deal, on or after 5th May 2025 until the works have been completed.
Closures will be carried out in 5 phases as detailed below, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Phase 1 - from 5th May 2025, with estimated completion by 27th June 2025.
The Street will be closed the entire length.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Sholden New Road, A258 London Road and vice versa.
Phase 2 - from 19th May 2025, with estimated completion by 6th June 2025.
Mongeham Road will be closed at the junction of A258 London Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mongeham Road, St Richards Road, Martin Mill, B2056 Manor Road, A258 London Road and vice versa.
Phase 3 - from 2nd June 2025, with estimated completion by 25th July 2025.
Sholden New Road will be closed the entire length.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Sholden New Road, A258 London Road and vice versa.
Phase 4 - from 23rd July 2025, with estimated completion by 31st August 2025.
A258 London Road will be closed from outside number 300 to Manor Road roundabout and from Manor Road roundabout to the junction of Hayward Close.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via A258 London Road, A258 Queen Street, A258 Broad Street, A258 Beach Street, A258 Prince of Wales Terrace, A258 Deal Castle Road, A258 Victoria Road, A258 The Strand, A258 Dover Road, B2056 Cornwall Road, B2056 Hamilton Road, B2056 Mill Road and B2056 Manor Road.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via B2056 Manor Road, B2056 Mill Road, B2056 Hamilton Road, B2056 Cornwall Road, A258 Dover Road, A258 The Strand, A258 Victoria Road, A258 Ranelagh Road, A258 Prince of Wales Terrace, A258 Beach Street, A258 Broad Street, A258 Queen Street and A258 London Road.
B2056 Manor Road will be closed between the junctions of A258 London Road and Rectory Road.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via A258 London Road, A258 Queen Street, A258 Broad Street, A258 Beach Street, A258 Prince of Wales Terrace, A258 Deal Castle Road, A258 Victoria Road, A258 The Strand, A258 Dover Road, B2056 Cornwall Road, B2056 Hamilton Road, B2056 Mill Road and B2056 Manor Road.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via B2056 Manor Road, B2056 Mill Road, B2056 Hamilton Road, B2056 Cornwall Road, A258 Dover Road, A258 The Strand, A258 Victoria Road, A258 Ranelagh Road, A258 Prince of Wales Terrace, A258 Beach Street, A258 Broad Street, A258 Queen Street and A258 London Road.
Rectory Road will be closed between the junctions of A258 London Road and B2056 Manor Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Rectory Road, St Richards Road, Martin Mill, B2056 Manor Road, A258 London Road and vice versa.
Phase 5 - 1st September 2025, with estimated completion by 24th October 2025.
Vicarage Lane will be closed the entire length.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Various Roads, Dover (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, Dover, on or after 6th May 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
Closures will be between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 only.
A256 London Road will be closed at the junction of St Radigunds Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cherry Tree Avenue, A256 Barton Road, A256 Frith Road, A256 Charlton Green, A256 Maison Dieu Road, A256 Woolcomber Street, A20 Townwall Street, A2 Jubilee Way, A2 Between Junction With A256 And Duke Of Yorks Roundabout, A2 Between Whitfield Roundabout And Junction With A256, A256 Whitfield Hill, A256 London Road and A256 Crabble Hill.
St Radigunds Road will be closed at the junction of A256 London Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A256 London Road, Eric Road and Oswald Road.
A256 Priory Road will be closed between the junctions of A256 York Street and A256 High Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A256 York Street, A20 Townwall Road, A2 Jubilee Way, A2 Between Junction With A256 And Duke Of Yorks Roundabout, A2 Between Whitfield Roundabout And Junction With A256, A256 Whitfield Hill, A256 London Road, A256 Crabble Hill, A256 Buckland Avenue, A256 Barton Avenue, A256 Frith Road, A256 Charlton Green, A256 Maison Dieu Road, B2245 Park Street, B2245 Park Place and B2245 Ladywell.
A256 High Street will be closed between the junctions of A256 Priory Road and A256 London Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2245 Ladywell, B2245 Park Place, B2245 Park Street, A256 Maison Dieu Road, A256 Woolcomber Street, A20 Townwall Street, A2 Jubilee Way, A2 Between Junction With A256 And Duke Of Yorks Roundabout, A2 Between Whitfield Roundabout And Junction With A256, A256 Whitfield Hill, A256 London Road, A256 Crabble Hill, A256 Buckland Avenue, A256 Barton Road, A256 Frith Road and Bridge Street.
