Essex, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works
What is happening?

(Various Roads, City of Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway & Temporary Introduction of 30mph Speed Limit) & (Nayland Road, Colchester) (Temporary Suspension of Bus Lane) & (Northern Approach Road, Colchester) (Temporary Introduction of Banned Right Turn) Order (No.12) 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close the said length of road in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule to this Order.
To temporarily suspend the bus lane in that length of Nayland Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester as cited in “The Essex County Council (Nayland Road, Colchester) (Bus Lane) Order 2008”. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the afore-mentioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
To temporarily introduce a banned right-hand turn from Northern Approach Road, Colchester into Turner Road, Colchester.
To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit in the said length of road as specified in the schedule.
A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road and those in the schedule for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road and those in the schedule. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 3rd April 2025, exact dates will be specified on site. Network Rail and its contractors are undertaking emergency works. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the closures via public website/letter drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule to this Order.
A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads and those in the schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of West End Road, Tiptree in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Priory Road to its junction with Maldon Road, a distance of approximately 1160m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd April 2025 for 39 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30033630908 – UK Power Networks). The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while the apparatus is being installed in the carriageway by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Maldon Road, Braxted Park Road, Priory Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 3rd April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
