What is happening?

(Burrs Road, Clacton on Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Burrs Road, Clacton on Sea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with the Grove to its junction with the Greenway a distance of approximately 160m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th May 2025 for 10 days or where stated on a valid permit (AD01510436444 - Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on and one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Gorse Lane, Thorpe Road, North Road, St Johns Road, Valley Road and vice versa (with access only into Burrs Road).
The Order will come into effect on 17th April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Pork Lane, Great Holland/Thorpe Le Soken) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Pork Lane, Great Holland/Thorpe Le Soken in the District of Tendring, from the junction with Main Road to the junction with Thorpe Road a distance of approximately 400m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th May 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201E82379818 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footway repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Thorpe Road, Holland Road, Kirby Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 17th April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Burrs Road/Chilburn Road, Clacton on Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
1. To temporarily close that length of Burrs Road, Clacton on Sea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Greenway to its junction with the Drive a distance of approximately 165m.
2. To temporarily close that length of Chilburn Road, Clacton on Sea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Burrs Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th April 2025 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01510440604/AD01510466464 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Valley Road, St Johns Road, North Road, Thorpe Road, Gorse Lane and vice versa (with access only into Burrs Road, Chilburn Road and Lymington Avenue).
The Order came into effect on 3rd April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Colchester Road, Holland on Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Colchester Road, Holland on Sea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Marine Parade to its junction with Ipswich Road a distance of approximately 240m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th April 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201E12379335 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footway and footway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Ipswich Road, Frinton Road, Wendenmere Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 3rd April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Golden Lane, Thorpe-le-Soken) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Golden Lane, Thorpe-le-Soken in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Harwich Road for a distance of approximately 750m in a south westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st April 2025 for 25 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP203Z101582 – Strutt and Parker Farms). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while road improvement works are undertaken by Strutt and Parker Farm LTD.
An alternative route is available via Colchester Road, High Street, Landermere Road, Harwich Road and vice versa with access only into Golden Lane.
The Order came into effect on 3rd April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(London Road, Clacton on Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of London Road, Clacton on Sea in the District of Tendring, from its junctions with St Johns Roundabout to St Johns Road a distance of approximately 140m in a south westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st April 2025 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011013793837 – Cadent).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Old Road, St Johns Road, St Johns Roundabout or St Johns Roundabout, St Johns Road, Wellesley Road, Oliver Road and Old Road (with access only into London Road).
The Order came into effect on 3rd April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Oakwood Avenue, Holland on Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Oakwood Avenue, Holland on Sea in the District of Tendring, from its junction of Somerset Avenue to its junction with Fleetwood Avenue a distance of approximately 245m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd April 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201E8732933 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Grenfell Avenue, Park Boulevard, Fleetwood Avenue and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 3rd April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, District of Tendring) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.6) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Tendring as specified in the Schedule.
A Temporary No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway on the above lengths of roads for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating the temporary restrictions.
The Essex County Council (Tendring District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) (and On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.19) Order 2019 will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the event ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restrictions are in force.
The restrictions will apply only at such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs and will only be in force when the signs are in place.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 3rd April 2025 exact dates will be specified on One.network.
The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services during closures but will be assessed with contractors and residents on a road-by-road basis if vehicles can gain access.
The planned works will be advertised on site via letter/email door drops and advanced warning signs on the road.

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Holland Road, Skelmersdale Road, Vista Road and vice versa (with access only into Walton Road).
