What is happening?
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
The Borough of Warrington (A49 Winwick Rd & Adjacent Streets) (Various Restrictions – BSIP Scheme) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Council proposes to make an order under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & of all other enabling powers. The effect of which will be as follows:-

The Orders specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice are revoked in their entirety.

To prohibit any Motor Vehicle proceeding along Bluecoat St from making a right-hand turn at its jct. with A49 Winwick Rd (northbound).

To prohibit any Motor Vehicle proceeding along A49 Winwick Rd from making a left-hand turn at its jct. with Alder Ln (eastbound). Pedal Cycles will be permitted.

To prohibit any Motor Vehicle proceeding along Collegiate Rd in any direction other than from North to South between its jct.’s with A49 Winwick Rd.

To introduce a 24-Hour Bus Gate on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice. Pedal Cycles will be permitted.

To introduce a 24-Hour Bus Lane on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice. Pedal Cycles will be permitted.

To prohibit any Motor Vehicle from performing a U-Turn from the roads specified in Column 1 of Schedule 4 to this Notice at the jct. with & in the direction specified in Column 2 of the said Schedule.

Schedule 2 – 24-Hour Bus Gate (Including Pedal Cycles)
Winwick Rd (Uncl.) (East Side) – From its jct. with A49 Winwick Rd in a southerly direction for a distance of 27m;
Winwick Rd (Uncl.) (West Side) – From its jct. with A49 Winwick Rd in a southerly direction for a distance of 32m.
Schedule 3 – 24-Hour Bus Lane (Including Pedal Cycles)
A49 Winwick Rd (East Side) – From its jct. with A50 Long Ln, in a southerly direction for a distance of 83m;
A49 Winwick Rd (East Side) – From a point 36m south of the projected southern kerbline of Owen St in a southerly direction for a distance of 29m;
A50 Long Ln (South Side) – From its jct. with A49 Winwick Rd in an easterly direction for a distance of 64m.

The effect of the Order will be as follows:–

Notice is hereby given that the Council made Orders under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Bold Ln, Burtonwood (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025 The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Bold Ln from its jct. with Back Ln to its jct. with Broad Ln. The Order will be effective from 22nd April 2025. The closure is for a period of 1 day. The alternative route will be via Back Ln, Phipps Ln, Broad Ln & vice versa. The closure is required to allow T-Mobile to carry out maintenance works to a telecom mast. Ref: 13734737 Cinnamon Ln, Poulton North (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025 The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Cinnamon Ln from its jct. with Lyndale Ave to its jct. with Parkfields Ln. The Order will be effective from 7th May 2025. The closure is for a period of 1 day, between 9:30am & 3:30pm. The alternative route will be via Enfield Park Rd, Blackbrook Ave, Insall Rd & vice versa. The closure is required to allow Openreach to carry out pole replacement work. Ref: 13967268 Highfield Ave & Willow Ln, Appleton (Prohibition of Driving & Clearway) Temporary Order 2025 The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway as follows: Highfield Ave for its entire length; Willow Ln for its entire length. The Order will be effective from 6th May 2025. The restrictions are for a period of 6 weeks, between 8:30am to 5:30pm. The alternative route for Willow Ln will be via Highfield Ave & vice versa. The restrictions are required for footway surfacing. Ref: 13709604 Liverpool Rd, Great Sankey (Prohibition of Driving & Clearway) Temporary Order 2025 The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway on Liverpool Rd between Sankey Brook & Kent Rd. The Order will be effective from 8th May 2025. The restrictions are for a period of 24 weeks, between 8:30am & 5:30pm. The alternative route will be via Penketh Rd (A562), Sankey Way (A57), Old Liverpool Rd & vice versa. The restrictions are required for drainage works. Ref: 13863821 |
