Derby City Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit use of the roads by traffic.

Temporary Road Closure And Suspension Of The One Way System Order On Full Street, Derby

WHEN: 13 April 2025 to 18 April 2025 (20.00 to 05.00 Daily
Overnight Only) 

WHERE: Full Street closure, from its junction with Corporation Street roundabout to its junction with Sowter Road. Full Street, One way suspension, from its junction with Sowter Road to its junction with Queen Street. 

REASON: Construction works

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Queen Street – St Marys Gate – Jury Street – Walker Lane –Cathedral Road – A601 Ford Street – Stafford Street – Mercian Way – Lara Croft Way – Bradshaw Way – Traffic Street – Morledge or Continue Traffic Street – The Cockpit – St Alkmunds Way (A601) – Darwin Place – Exeter Place – Exeter Street – Derwent Street


Temporary Parking Bay Suspension Order On Crompton Street, Derby

WHEN: 30 April 2025 to 02 May 2025 

WHERE: Crompton Street, from outside number 18 to outside number 21 – a distance of approximately 16 metres 

REASON: Drainage works 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: N/A


Temporary Road And Footway Closure Order On Kedleston Service Road, Derby 

WHEN: 26 April 2025 to 30 May 2025 

WHERE: Kedleston Service Road, from its junction Markeaton Public House car park to Adjacent The Co-operative Food. Pedestrians access to Markeaton Public House Only – No through access. 

REASON: Construction works

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Allestree Lane – Kedleston Road and the same in the opposite direction


Temporary Road Closure Order On Breedon Avenue, Derby

WHEN: 27 April 2025 (08:00am - 16:00pm only) 

WHERE: Breedon Avenue, at its junction with Stenson Road. 

REASON: Drainage works

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Breedon Avenue – Instow Drive – Stenson Road and the same in the opposite direction

Temporary Road Closure Order On Albert Street, Corporation Street, Morledge And Tennant Street, Derby

WHEN: 13 April 2025 to 25 April 2025 (excluding Easter Holidays) (20:00 to 05:00 Daily - Overnight) Closures in Phases – see below Only one Roundabout to be closed at one time 

WHERE: Phase 1: 13 to 22 April 2025 Corporation Street, from roundabout with Derwent Street to its roundabout with Albert Street, Tennant Street and Morledge. 

Phase 2: 22 to 25 April 2025 Albert Street and Morledge, Albert street, from its junction with Exchange Street to its roundabout with Tennant Street, Corporation Street and its junction with Derby Crown Court car park entrance on Morledge. 

REASON: Construction work

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Exeter Place – Exeter Street – Derwent Street – St Alkmunds Way (A601) – Ford Street (A601) – Stafford Street – Mercian Way – Lara Croft Way – Bradshaw Way – Traffic Street – Morledge 


Temporary Road Closure Order On Nottingham Road, Spondon, Derby

WHEN: 12th April 2025 and 30th April 2025 (Only Two days) 

WHERE: Nottingham Road, from its junction with Willowcroft Road to approximately 150 metres from Hobson Drive – Derby City boundary

REASON: Carriageway works 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Nottingham Road – Brian Clough Way – Victoria Avenue and the same in the opposite direction.


Temporary Road Closure Order On Holbrook Road, Derby

WHEN: 15 April 2025 and 24 April 2025 (Only Two days) 

WHERE: Holbrook Road, from its junction with Field Lane to its junction with Crayford Road. 

REASON: Carriageway works 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Holbrook Road – Field Lane – Crayford Road and the same in the opposite direction


Temporary Road Closure Order On Chellaston Road, Derby

WHEN: 16 April 2025 to 26 April 2025 (Only 2 days within these dates) 

WHERE: Chellaston Road, from its junction with Merrill way and Boulton Lane to its junction with Shelton Drive. 

REASON: Carriageway works 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Derby Road – Swarkestone Road – Circumnavigate Bonnie Prince Roundabout – Infinity Park Way – Wilmore Road – Merrill Way and the same in the opposite direction


Temporary Road Closure Order On Corden Street, Derby

WHEN: 06 April 2025 

WHERE: Corden Street, at junction with Pear Tree Road. 

REASON: Water works 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Pear Tree Road – Dairy House Road – Malcolm Street – Rose Hill Street – Holmes Street – Whiston Street – Oak Street – Corden Street


Temporary One Way Road Closure Order On Victory Road 
Temporary Right Turn Suspension Order On Osmaston Park Road, Derby

WHEN: 12 April 2025 to 13 April 2025 (20.00 to 16:00) 

WHERE: Victory Road, inbound closure at its junction with Osmaston Park Road. Osmaston Park Road, Right Turn suspension into Victory Road.

REASON: Water works 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Osmaston Park Road – Moor Lane – Victory Road
