What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 The East Sussex (U3012 Little Ridge Avenue, 

St Leonards-on-Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Little Ridge Avenue – from the junction with U3016 Harrow Lane to the junction with P3090 Oasthouse Close.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3016 Harrow Lane – B2093 The Ridge, Conquest roundabout, The Ridge – U3008 Hillside Road – U3012 Little Ridge Avenue and vice versa.

The Order commences 1 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 1 and 3 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3126 Brittany Road, St Leonards-on-Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Brittany Road – from the junction with U3129 Dane Road to the junction with U3124 Charles Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3129 Dane Road – U3127 Markwick Terrace – U3124 Charles Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 28 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 28 April and 2 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C215 Elphinstone Road, Hastings)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Elphinstone Road – from the junction with U3280 Hughenden Road to the junction with C457 Mount Pleasant Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C215 Elphinstone Road – B2093 The Ridge, Old London Road – A259 Old London Road – C551 Priory Road – C457 Mount Pleasant Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 29 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 09:00hrs to 15:00hrs on 29 and 30 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7114 Moons Hill, Ninfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Moons Hill – from the junction with U7699 Marlpits Lane to the junction with U7700 Manchester Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7699 Marlpits Lane – U7700 Manchester Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 and 17 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3158 St Johns Road, St Leonards-on-Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

St Johns Road – from the junction with U3157 Church Road to the junction with U3159 Magdalen Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3157 Church Road – U3158 Blomfield Road – U3159 Magdalen Road and vice versa.

The Order commenced 20 February 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 and 17 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6437 The Mint, Rye)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road; Temporary Road Closure

The Mint – from the junction with U6437 High Street to the junction with U6438 Mermaid Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6444 Market Road – A268 Cinque Ports Street, Wish Street – U6436 Wish Ward – U6438 Mermaid Street.

The Order commences 14 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 14 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3045 Blackman Avenue/

U3064 Dymond Road, St Leonards-on-Sea)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Blackman Avenue/Dymond Road – from the junction with U3057 Burden Place to the junction with U3056 Chambers Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3057 Burden Place – U3045 Blackman Avenue – U3056 Ford Road, Chambers Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 14 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 14 and 17 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C345 Church Lane/Church Road,

Catsfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Church Lane/Church Road – from the junction with B2204 The Green to the junction with C307 Crowhurst Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2204 The Green, The Stream, Catsfield Road – A269 Bexhill Road, Ninfield Road – A2691 Haven Brook Avenue – C345 Watermill Lane – C307 Crowhurst Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 14 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 14 and 16 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6106 Sluice Road/Herbrand Walk,

Normans Bay/Bexhill) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Centurion Site Services to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Sluice Road/Herbrand Walk – 15 metres either side of the level crossing.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6106 Sluice Road, Sluice Lane – A27(T) Pevensey Haven roundabout – A259(T) Marsh Road, Barnhorn Road, Little Common roundabout – B2182 Cooden Sea Road – U6106 Herbrand Walk and vice versa.

The Order commenced 15 December 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 18 and 22 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C18 Church Road, Ashburnham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Oak Traffic Management Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Church Road – from the junction with C18 Hammer Hill to the junction with C412 The Forge.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C18 Hammer Hill – A271 Kitchenham Road, Boreham Hill, The Strait, Windmill Hill Road – C16 Victoria Road, The Causeway, White Horse Road – C277 North Road, Redpale, Bluekiln Road – C18 Herrings Road, Ponts Green, Church Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 17 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 17 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A271 Kitchenham Road, Ninfield/

Ashburnham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Kitchenham Road – from the junction with A269 Standard Hill to the junction with U6202 Freckley Hollow.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A271 Kitchenham Road, Beechdown Wood, North Trade Road, Ten Sixty Six roundabout – A2100 High Street, Upper Lake, Lower Lake, Battle Hill, Hastings Road, Battle Road, The Ridge West – A2690 Queensway, Combe Valley Way – A2691 Haven Brook Avenue – A269 Ninfield Road, Bexhill Road, The Green, High Street, Standard Hill and vice versa. The Order commenced 25 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 15 and 16 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2159 Battle Road, St Leonards-on-Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road to northbound traffic;

Temporary Road Closure

Battle Road – from the junction with U3071 Ashbrook Road to the junction with U3072 Battle Crescent.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2159 Battle Road – A21 London Road – A2102 Norman Road, Warrior Square – A259 Grand Parade, Marina, Grosvenor Crescent, Bexhill Road – B2092 Harley Shute Road, Crowhurst Road, Queensway – A2690 Queensway – A2100 The Ridge West, Beauport Park roundabout – B2159 Battle Road.

The Order commences 14 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 14 and 18 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3083 Castleham Road, St Leonards-on-Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow Benchmark Permits Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Castleham Road – from the junction with U3086 Moorhurst Road to the junction with U3082 Napier Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3083 Castleham Road – U3088 Telford Road – B2159 Battle Road – A2100 Beauport Park roundabout, The Ridge West – A2690 Queensway – U3082 Napier Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 1 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 1 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2244 Junction Road, Bodiam) (40mph Speed Limit) Order 202*

NOTICE is hereby given that East Sussex County Council propose to make an Order under Sections 84 (1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, which would amend the speed limit on the following length of road;

40 mph Speed Limit

B2244 Junction Road From a point 495 metres north of the boundary of Nos. 1 & 2 Udiam Cottages to a point 85 metres south of the boundary of Nos. 4 & 5 Udiam Cottages.
