What is happening?

(TEMPORARY NO STOPPING OR WAITING) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except

a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from stopping or waiting along the length of Sutton Mill Road, Potton at its junction with Sandy Road.

This temporary no stopping or waiting is required to allow construction vehicles access to the construction site and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing. It is expected that the no stopping or waiting will be in force from 16 April 2025 to 15 October 2026 as follows;

7:30am and 6:30pm on Weekdays

7:30am and 1:30pm on Saturdays

The order will be in operation until the proposed works have been completed.

Any vehicles found to be in contravention of this order will be removed from the public highway and stored until the registered owner arranges collection.

The Order will come into operation on 16 April 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

Notice of Confirmation of Public Path Order

Highways Act 1980

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (ARLESEY: FOOTPATH NO 15) PUBLIC PATH CREATION ORDER 2024

On the 4 April 2025 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 26 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to create the following length of Public Footpath No. 15, as shown on the Order map.

The length of Footpath No 15, Arlesey to be created extends from its junction with The Rally and Bury Mead at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1905 3719 (Order Map – point A) where it heads in a westerly direction for approximately 51 metres to OS GR TL 1900 3720 (Order map – point B) where it heads in a southerly direction for approximately 78 metres to its junction with Central Bedfordshire Council’s countryside site at OS GR TL 1900 3711 (Order map – point C).

The new length of footpath has a width of 2 metres.

A copy of the Order and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Central Bedfordshire Council Highways, Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford. The Order comes into force on 11 April 2025 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 11 April 2025 make an application to the High Court.
