Chesterfield Road, Huthwaite and Park Street, Kirkby in Ashfield - Temporary Prohibition of Driving
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(CHESTERFIELD ROAD, HUTHWAITE AND PARK STREET, KIRKBY IN ASHFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (A25-064)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Huthwaite and Kirkby in Ashfield in the District of Ashfield.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. Chesterfield Road, Huthwaite - From its junction with Newtonwood Lane to its junction with Clegg Hill Drive.
b. Park Street, Kirkby in Ashfield - From its junction with Bannerman Road to its junction with B6020 Victoria Road
2. Vehicles are prohibited from Waiting, Loading and Unloading (both sides) (at all times) in the following length of road
a. Chesterfield Road, Huthwaite - From its junction with Newtonwood Lane to its junction with Clegg Hill Drive.
b. Park Street, Kirkby in Ashfield - From its junction with Bannerman Road to its junction with B6020 Victoria Road
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
Chesterfield Road, Huthwaite
From 20:00 hours until 06:00 hours only From Monday 5th May until Saturday 17th May 2025 inclusive
Park Street, Kirkby in Ashfield
From 09:00 hours until 15:00 hours only From Tuesday 22nd April until Friday 25th April 2025 inclusive
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
Chesterfield Road, Huthwaite
Wild Hill - Mansfield Road - High Street - Alfreton Road Newton Road - Main Street - Hall Lane - Cragg Lane - Huthwaite Lane - Blackwell Road - Main Street and vice versa
Park Street, Kirkby in Ashfield
Park Street - Hartley Road - Southwell Lane - B6020 and vice versa
The Order will come into force on 22nd April 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing works
