Chorlton Resurfacing - Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic For Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC142867950: The City of Manchester (Chorlton Resurfacing, Chorlton Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Chequers Road, Wyverne Road and Maitland Avenue. The alternative routes for traffic will be: (1) High Lane, Wilton Road, Beech Road (2) Kings Road, Withington Road, Wilbraham Road, Wyverne Road (3) Hardy Lane, Barlow Moor Road, Mauldeth Road West, Aldermary Road, Darley Avenue. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate resurfacing works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 24th April 2025 to the 4th May 2025. The order shall come into operation on the 24th April 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 12th April 2025.
ORDER NO. MCC000142908187: The City of Manchester (Kingsway, Burnage Ward)(Temporary Closure of Bus Lane) Order 2025under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit any bus, taxi or pedal cycle from proceeding at any time in the following length of bus lane: Kingsway Bus lane from its junction with southwest roundabout on Moseley Road in a southerly direction for 60 meters. The City Council is satisfied that this suspension/ or prohibition is necessary in order to install a new connection. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 26th April 2025 to the 11th May 2025. The order shall come into operation on the 26th April 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
