TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all pedestrian traffic from the sections of footways and associated footpaths described in the schedule. The Order is required to allow for maintenance works to the gas main. The order will come into force on 12th May 2025. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be six months. However, it is anticipated that the works will take approximately four weeks and that each section of footway will be closed on one occasion only. All pedestrians will be prohibited from the section of footways and footpaths described in the schedule (except for personnel involved in the works), until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. An alternative route will be provided.
Schedule: Arklecrag – all associated footways and footpaths on Arklecrag; and Rosegill – all associated footways and footpaths on Rosegill.
Dated: 11th April 2025. Patrick Melia OBE, Chief Executive, Sunderland City Council, City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland, SR1 3AA.
