NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER UNDER THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
SECTION 257 AND PARAGRAPH 7 OF SCHEDULE 14
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND
THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (SECTION OF UNNAMED FOOTPATH AT LAND TO THE EAST OF FARRINGDON ROW) PUBLIC PATH STOPPING UP ORDER 2025
On the 9th April 2025 the Council of the City of Sunderland (“the Council”) confirmed the above order an unopposed order. The effect of the order will be to stop up the public footpath described in the Schedule to this Notice as shown by a bold black line on the order map. A copy of the order and order map may be seen free of charge during normal opening hours at City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland SR1 3AA. Copies of the order and order map may be purchased there at the price of £1.00. This order comes into force on the 17th April 2025, but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to that Act. THE SCHEDULE The section of unnamed footpath to be stopped up is located near Farringdon Row in the City of Sunderland, Tyne and Wear and shown by a bold black line on the order map reference: SUO71094/03 and described as follows Footpath from Points A – B Commencing at point A (OS Ref: 439044, 557444) running in a south-easterly direction for a distance of 115.7 metres to point B (OS Ref: 439137, 557375), and from point A to point B with a width varying from 3.0 metres to 4.6 metres.
