What is happening?

U6534 PERCY STREET FOOTWAY ASHINGTON
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by pedestrian traffic on the following sections of footways in Ashington in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 17th April 2025 until the 19th May 2025.
Footway Closures:
U6534 Percy Street Footway, Ashington from its junction with Castle Terrace heading southwards for a distance of 90 metres.
It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 17th April 2025 until the 25th April 2025, the footway will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 19th May 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via Castle Terrace, Percy Street, First Avenue and vice-versa.
Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The footway closures have been requested by Advanced Utility Solutions to install ducts for new fibre broadband. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
