Shropshire - Various Road Traffic Restrictions

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S –      

PUBLIC NOTICES OF MAKING      

         
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“The Council”) have made an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of roads as stated below. The Order/s for regulation is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exemptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below.  The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.         

 The Order/s came into force on 14 th April 2025 and will remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works are completed, whichever is earlier.  However, it is expected that the Order/s will only be operative for the duration as stated below.



Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Cartway (upper section), Bridgnorth at the same time the one way order on Friars Street will be reversed to allow access.
Date & Duration: 16th April 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water - Remedial Reinstatement
Alternative Route : Postern Gate, West Castle Street, New Road, Underhill Street, Cartway, Friars Street


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Draycott, Claverley
Date & Duration: 14th April 2025 for 4 days
Purpose: Road Closure-National Grid-9m road crossing in tarmac road for new supply
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South East, Unnamed road North West, Unnamed road North East through Draycott


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Haywood Lane, Cheswardine
Date & Duration: 14th April 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Road closure is required for pole testing
Alternative Route : Haywood Lane, A529, Tyrley Road, Tag Lane


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Hereford Road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 14th April 2025 from 20:00 to 06:00 15th April 2025
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, replace defective manhole frame and cover.
Alternative Route : A5112, Old Potts Way, Coleham Head, Moreton Crescent, Belle Vue Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Leigh Road, Minsterley
Date & Duration: 14th April 2025 for 4 days between 08:00 to 18:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, new water connection.
Alternative Route : A488, Unnamed road North towards Nox, B4386, B4499


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Portland Crescent, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 14th April 2025 for 4 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, long comm pipe renew.
Alternative Route : Portland Crescent, Preston Street, Belvidere Avenue, Belvidere Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Rhiew Revel Lane, Pant
Date & Duration: 16th April 2025 for 1 day between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Excavate 2 x joint bays
Alternative Route : A483, Station Road, Unnamed road South and South West


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4368 Clun to Newcastle
Date & Duration: 14th and 16th April 2025 for 2 days between 09:30 to 17:00, 15th and 17th April 2025 for 2 days between 08:00 to 16:00 and 22nd April 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Fell trees as part of the arboriculture tree inspections report. Ash die back so safety work.
Alternative Route : Phase One; A488, B4355, A483, A489, B4368 and Phase Two; A488, B4355, A483, A489, B4368


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using School Bank, Wood Lane, Chester Street and Newport Road, Hinstock
Date & Duration: 14th April 2025 for 12 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closures to School Bank, Wood Lane, Chester Road and Newport Road, Hinstock to enable works in conjunction with A529 Safer Road scheme
Alternative Route : A529, A53, A41


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4371 Stretton Road, Much Wenlock
Date & Duration: 14th April 2025 for 2 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Remedial resurfacing works
Alternative Route : A458, A5, A49, B4371


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4385 Montgomery Road, Lower Broughton
Date & Duration: 15th April 2025 for 3 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : B4385, A489, A488, B4385


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B5067 Prescott Road, Baschurch
Date & Duration: 14th April 2025 for 12 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Capital resurfacing scheme
Alternative Route : B4397, A528, B5067


Description of restriction: Pedestrians will be prohibited from using School Lane, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 14th April 2025 for 17 days
Purpose: Footpath Closure - Energetics, to excavate the footpath to complete electrical mains lay to supply for new development.
Alternative Route : Salters Lane, Greyfriars Road, Longden Coleham, School Lane


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Station Road, Llanymynech
Date & Duration: 14th April 2025 for 4 days between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Replacement of pole
Alternative Route : A483, B4396, B4398


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Station Road, Weston Rhyn
Date & Duration: 14th April 2025 for 2 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Provide 2 x telecom poles in verge.
Alternative Route : Station Road, A5, B5069, Beatrice Street or King Street, Castle Street, B4580, B5479, Unnamed road North through Upper Hengoed


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Cound And Harnage, Harnage
Date & Duration: 15th April 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, remedial works to rectify defective reinstatement.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North West through Cound, A458, Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road North West towards Harnage
