U6523 CHESTNUT STREET ASHINGTON
(TEMPORARY FOOTWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by pedestrian traffic on that section of the U6523 Chestnut Street Footway Ashington from its junction with Woodhorn Road heading in a southerly direction for a length of 161 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 21st April 2025 until the 9th May 2025.
It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 21st April 2025 until the 25th April 2025 between the hours of 08:00 until 17:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 9th May 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being gable end of number 1 Chestnut Street, to the rear of number 1 Chestnut Street continuing in a southerly direction to the gable end of number 53 Chestnut Street and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Northern Gas to lay a new low pressure service. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
