What is happening?

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14 - Kirklees Council

(Plane Street, Newsome, Huddersfield) (Temporary Prohibition Of Use) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Plane Street, Newsome, from footpath 238, Plane Street to its junction with Stile Common Road PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.

No diversion required. It is intended that the closure will commence on Friday 18 April 2025 and remain in force until 21 July 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 6 months if necessary).


(Butt Lane/Dean Bridge Lane/Towngate, Hepworth, Holmfirth) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in the lengths of: Butt Lane from its junction with Towngate to its junction with Mount View Road, Dean Bridge Lane approximately 97 metres South East from Dean Bridge Farm to its junction with Town Gate and Town Gate from its junction with Butt Lane to its junction with Upper Gate PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via:

- Butt Lane and Towngate - Butt Lane, Hepworth Road, East Street, Sheffield Road, Gate Head Lane, Barnside Lane, Main Gate, Town Gate and vice versa

- Dean Bridge Lane - Dean Bridge Lane, Chapelgate, Paris, Scholes Road, Hepworth Road, Butt Lane and vice versa. If access to Towngate is required then the diversion above will need to be picked up on Sheffield Road.

It is intended that the closure will commence on Monday 14 April 2025 and remain in force until 18 April 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).


(Smithy Place Lane, Brockholes, Huddersfield) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Smithy Place Lane, Brockholes from a point outside The Smithy Place, Smithy Place Lane to a point outside property no. 14 Smithy Place Lane PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Smithy Place Lane, New Mill Road, Station Road, Woodhead Road, Smithy Place Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will commence on Wednesday 16 April 2025 and remain in force for approximately one day (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).


(Bankfield Road, Huddersfield) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2025 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Bankfield Road, Huddersfield from its junction with Woodthorpe Terrace to opposite a point outside property no. 76 Bankfield Road PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Bankfield Road, Manchester Road, Bankfield Road - anticlockwise only. 

It is intended that the closure will commence on Wednesday 16 April 2025 and remain in force for until Thursday 17 April 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary). 


(South Cross Road, Cowcliffe, Huddersfield) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2025 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of South Cross Road, Cowcliffe from a point outside property no. 4 South Cross Road to a point outside property no. 24 South Cross Road PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure. 

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via South Cross Road, Cowcliffe Hill Road, Halifax Old Road and vice versa. 

It is intended that the closure will commence on Wednesday 16 April 2025 and remain in force until 17 April 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).


(Bank Gate, Slaithwaite, Huddersfield) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2025 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Bank Gate, Slaithwaite from a point outside the Community Centre, Bank Gate to its junction with Ivy Mount PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Bank Gate, Nabbs Lane, Holme Lane, North Lane, Clough House Lane, Longlands Road, Bank Gate and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will commence on Tuesday 15 April 2025 and remain in force until 16 April 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).


(Lamb Hall Road, Longwood, Huddersfield) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Lamb Hall Road, Longwood, from Raygate to outside Property no. 91 Lamb Hall Road PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure. 

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Lamb Hall Road, Gilead Road, Longwood Edge Road, New Hey Road, Raygate and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will commence on Monday 14 April 2025 and remain in force until 2 May 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).


(Bradford Road, Fixby, Huddersfield) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Bradford Road, Fixby from its junction with Long Hill Road to its junction with Netheroyd Hill Road PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Bradford Road, Fixby Road, Clough Lane, New Hey Road, Brighouse Road, Halifax Road, Edgerton Road, New North Road, Castlegate Slip, Castlegate Bradford Road - anticlockwise only. 

It is intended that the closure will commence on Tuesday 15 April 2025 to follow on from the expiry of the Emergency Notice dated 24 March 2025 and will remain in force until 24 April 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).


(Ramsden Road, Holmbridge, Holmfirth) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Ramsden Road, Holmbridge from its junction with Brownhill Road to its junction White Gate Road PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure. 

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via White Gate Road, Woodhouse Lane, Hollin Brigg Lane, Dobb Top Road, Bank Lane, Brownhill Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will commence on Tuesday 15 April 2025 to follow on from the expiry of the Emergency Notice dated 24 March 2025 and will remain in force until 22 December 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).


(Lockwood Road, Lockwood, Huddersfield) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2025 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Lockwood Road, Lockwood from its junction with Fair Street to its junction with Bridge Street PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure. 

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

No diversion required, bus lane closure only.

It is intended that the closure will commence on Friday 2 May 2025 and will remain in force until 17 April 2026 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).


(St John’s Avenue, Kirkheaton, Huddersfield) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of St John’s Avenue, Kirkheaton from a point outside property no 23 St John’s Avenue to point outside property no 31 St John’s Avenue PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure. 

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via St John’s Avenue, St John’s Road, Fields Rise, New Road, St John’s Avenue and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will commence on Tuesday 29 April 2025 and remain in force until 2 May 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).


(Arkenley Lane, Almondbury, Huddersfield) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Arkenley Lane, Almondbury from a point outside property no 6 Arkenley Lane to a point outside property no 16 Arkenley Lane PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure. 

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Arkenley Lane, St Helen’s Gate, Woodsome Road, Bankfoot Road, Sharp Lane, Almondbury Common, Arkenley Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will commence on Monday 28 April 2025 and remain in force until 29 April 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).


(Bath Street, Huddersfield) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Bath Street, Huddersfield from a point outside property no 14 Bath Street to a point outside property no 26 Bath Street PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure. 

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Bath Street, St John’s Road, Fitzwilliam Street, Rook Street, Bath Street and vice versa. 

It is intended that the closure will operate on Monday 28 April 2025 only (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).


(Ash Grove Road, Holmfirth) 
(Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2025 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Ash Grove Road, Holmfirth at a point outside Montray on Ash Grove Road PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Ash Grove Road, Broad Lane, Five Lane Ends, Park Head Lane, Greenfield Road, Ash Grove Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will commence on Sunday 27 April 2025 and remain in force for approximately one day (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
