Wigglesworth, Public Path Diversion Order?

What is happening?

North Yorkshire Council, Notice of making of a Public Path Diversion Order & Definitive Map & Statement Modification Order Highways Act 1980 & Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981

The North Yorkshire Council Public Footpaths 05.43/26 & 05.43/30 Bowland Fell Park Crowtrees Tosside, Wigglesworth Public Path Order 2025.

The above Order, made on 25th March 2025, under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 & Section 53A(2) of the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 will divert the Public Footpaths described below. Public Footpath 05.43/26 from SD 7808 5569 to SD 7804 5526, will be diverted onto a new route from SD 7809 5573 to SD 7810 5568 to SD 7815 5560 to SD 7818 5556 to SD 7804 5526, via a pedestrian gate at SD 7818 5555, with a width of 2.5 metres.

Also Public Footpath 05.43/30 will be diverted as follows: From SD 7792 5592 to SD 7794 5582, onto a new route from SD 7792 5592 to SD 7795 5584 with a width of 2.5 metres continuing to SD 7794 5582 with a width of 2 metres; & from SD 7801 5575 to SD 7808 5569 to SD 7835 5569, onto a new route from SD 7801 5575 to SD 7806 5578 to SD 7809 5573 to SD 7828 5578 to SD 7835 5569 with a width of 2.5 metres.

A copy of the Order & the Order map may be seen free of charge during normal office hours at Ingleton Community Library, Main Street, Ingleton LA6 3HG (TEL: 01609 534504), North Yorkshire until 09/05/25. Copies may be purchased from Countryside Access Services, North Yorkshire Council, County Hall, Northallerton, North Yorkshire, DL7 8AD (Tel: 0300 131 2131) at a cost of £2, or can be downloaded free from our website www.northyorks.gov.uk/pathnotices.

Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to Definitive Map Officer at the above address, or email Paths@northyorks.gov.uk to be received by 09/05/25. Please state the grounds on which they are made. Please note that objections or representations cannot be treated as confidential & may come into the public domain. Copies of any objections or representations received may be disclosed to interested parties, including the Planning Inspectorate where the case is referred to it for determination. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, we may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If objections are received & not withdrawn, the Order will be submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation, any representations & objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with it.
