Northumberland, Temporary Road Closures Due To Various Works

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

B6528 HIGH BARNS TO HORSLEY, HORSLEY MAIN ROAD THROUGH VILLAGE, HORSLEY AND HORSLEY TO HOLEYN, HEDDON ON THE WALL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on the following sections of roads in the County of Northumberland.

The Order is to be effective from the 14th April 2025 until the 31st October 2025.

Road Closures:

• B6528 High Barns to Horsley, Horsley from its junction with Oatens Bank heading eastwards for a distance of 585 metres

• B6528 Horsley Main Road through Village, Horsley for its entire length of 586 metres

• B6528 Horsley To Holeyn, Heddon-on-the-wall for its entire length of 1030 metres.

It is expected that the roads will only be closed on the 14th April 2025 between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 31st October 2025.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the A69, C256, B6528, C255, C254, C257, A6085 and vice-versa.

Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closures have been requested by Northumberland County Council to carry out patching works, civils works, surface dressing, lock-chip and road markings. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
