Commonwealth Estate – 20 MPH Zone

THE REDBRIDGE (20 MPH ZONE) (NO. 1) TRAFFIC ORDER 2025

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Council of the London Borough of Redbridge, after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, on 10th April 2025, made the above-mentioned Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Sections 84 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order will be to introduce a 20 miles per hour zone in the roads and in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. A further effect of the Order would be to consolidate existing 20 MPH Zone into the same Order.

3. A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 14th April 2025, of the Order being revoked and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Order together with a plan of the area inspected between 9.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m., on Mondays to Fridays (9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on Wednesdays), until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Order is made, at the Information Centre, Lynton House, 255–259 High Road, Ilford Essex IG1 1NN.

4. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provisions contained therein on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any of the relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make an application for the purpose to the High Court.
