What is happening?

Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough has made an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2025 – 

Chapel Street, Stanground, Peterborough                       Ref: 26-003

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Chapel Street, Stanground, as lies between Rose Avenue and Coneygree Road. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is via: Rose Avenue, Thistle Drive, Coneygree Road and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 14/04/2025 and will continue until the remedial works in the carriageway and footway have been completed or until the 13/04/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place from the 14/04/2025 to the 16/04/2025. The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2025 – 

Milton Road, Fletton, Peterborough                               Ref: 26-004

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Milton Road, Fletton as lies between Fellowes Road and High Street. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is via: Fellowes Road, Fletton Avenue, High Street and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 14/04/2025 and will continue until the lead replacement works have been completed or until the 13/04/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place from the 14/04/2025 to the 17/04/2025. The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2025 – 

Speechley Drove                                                             Ref: 26-006

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Speechley Drove, approximately 175m north of Thorney Road. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. There is no alternative route for vehicles affected by this order, access will be maintained to affected properties. The proposed order will come into force on the 15/04/2025 and will continue until the installation of pipeline works have been completed or until the 14/04/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 15/04/2025 and the 30/04/2025.  For further information please contact

Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough intends in not less than seven days to make an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2025 – 

Lincoln Road and side roads                                            Ref: 25-319

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the roads detailed in the schedule below

The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above roads. The alternative routes for vehicles affected by this order are detailed in the schedule. The proposed order will come into force on the 22/04/2025 and will continue until the public realm improvement works have been completed or until the 21/04/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between 22/04/2025 and 16/01/2026. The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2025 – 

Allotment Lane, Castor, Peterborough                            Ref: 26-005

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Allotment Lane, Castor, as lies between Manor Farm Lane and The Green. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is via: Manor Farm Lane, Peterborough Road, The Green and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 22/04/2025 and will continue until the new gas mains connection works have been completed or until the 21/04/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place from the 22/04/2025 to the 25/04/2025. For further information please contact
