What is happening?

OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(OXFORD TOWN & GOWN 10K RUN) (SPECIAL EVENT) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that on 28 April 2025 Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. This Order, which will be in force for Sunday 11 May is being made for the event and is promoted by the Muscular Dystrophy UK, 32 Ufford Street, London SE1 8QD.

Two events, commencing at 9.15 (junior) and 10.00am (senior) from Banbury Road conclude at University Parks.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicles for public safety reasons from driving or parking in the following roads:

between approximately 8am and 11:30am:

A4165 Banbury Road from St. Giles to Moreton Road

Belbroughton Road, Charlbury Road from Belbroughton Road to Linton Road,

Linton Road from Charlbury Road to Chadlington Road,

Chadlington Road, Bardwell Road, Norham Road;

between approximately 8am and 12:30pm:

Fyfield Road, Norham Gardens, Parks Road, South Parks Road, Mansfield Road, Jowett Walk, St Cross Road, Broad Street, Catte Street, New College Lane, Queens Lane, High Street, between Queens Lane & Longwall Street, Longwall Street and Holywell Street.

Areas of permitted parking in some of the above roads will also be temporarily suspended by street notices displayed.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for vehicles engaged in the setting up, management and safety purposes of the event.

Alternative routes for traffic affected by the closure are via the Oxford Ring Road, Marston Ferry Road, Marston Road from the north; and via Iffley Road, Rose Hill Roundabout, Eastern by-pass A4142, A423 and Abingdon Road from the south and east, and vice versa.
